“My wife grew up in Olean, but she had not been back in almost 30 years. I’ve heard so many stories about how great the beef was, so when we visited Olean this past week, I knew that Beef’ N Barrel would be our first stop.

The experience was better than I had expected. What a great atmosphere. You could tell that this was a popular restaurant for locals, but an out of towner like myself was made to feel welcome. Our server was so friendly. One of the owners, PJ, went out of his way to make our dining experience outstanding.

Let’s get to the food. We had pickle chips for an appetizer. They were really good. The breading was a little thicker than some other pickle chips I’ve had. Main course was the beef on weck. The beef almost melted in my mouth. It was so good. PJ comped our dessert, so we ordered chocolate mud pie and strawberry shortcake ala mode, which was the weekly special. Fantastic.

We were in Olean for three days. There are plenty of places to eat, but we decided to go back to Beef’ N Barrel a second time before leaving town. It’s that good! The second time was just as good as our first visit.”

“1st time today while we were at Strolean. Let me tell you the amazing food but the service was over the top!!!! the server listen to all our special needs having 3 hot hungry kids who don't like the same thing but all wanted taco pizza!!!! they took the time kept all the toppings on sides!! our cups never went dry!!!! the chicken wing pizza was amazing never had it before w celery on top. the cheese bread has to be the best around!!!! we will be ordering from here again very soon now that we tried it!!!”

“I’ve been coming to Twist and Shake for years and years. This place is truly amazing. I’ve never had ice-cream that beats theirs. I get a different flurry every time and it never disappoints. I love the lunch, fries and chicken tenders are always amazing here. All of the ice cream is great and there is never really a long wait time. This place is an Olean classic and you have to visit here in the summer.”

One of my three loaves contained some mold...the owner himself called me and said a new loaf will be immediately shipped. He explained how/why this occasionally happens. The cinnamon bread makes outstanding French toast. Our entire family loved it. We first were served this at a restaurant and asked where they purchased their bread”

“We came here on the way home from our camping trip and it was pretty nice. I was kind of out of it but the eggs, hash, and toast were yummy. My husband got the daily special and got an English muffin with his breakfast which was really good. Service was friendly and quick.”

“I just wanted to say thank you to the employees at Subway tonight near Walmart. My daughter and I had plans to go to Applebee's but unfortunately this mama was tired, my daughter was very tired, and we just didn't want to wait. Decided to grab Subway instead. Each time these employees got done cleaning up, another customer walked in. You could tell they were tired but not a single one of them complained or had an attitude. To the younger girl that was working tonight, thank you. Thank you for allowing my daughter to be herself in the resultant without any issue, complaint or judgement. What you don't know is that my daughter has exceptionalities and you letting her be her true free self meant everything to this tired mama who may or may not have just dealt with a 25 minute overstimulated "meltdown." “I worked late tonight and stopped at bk to get somthing easy for dinner... I didnt expect much considering it was 30 minutes before they closed, I figured cold, old food. I was really surprised on how hot and fresh it was. The new steakhouse burger is very good. The fries were hot. Cant ask for better out of the place.”
