This restaurant has potential and could be great, order the steak frites, came out cold could tell it sat for awhile before being brought to table, steak needed seasoning, fries needed seasoning and were very soggy due to steak being put on top of them, house salad was very good. BLT sandwich was delicious but chips could use seasoning which seasoning was the main issue on both dishes. Unfortunately service was very lacking and hate to but left no tip because of it, server was very distracted , ran out of drinks was never offered another or refills, ask for bill and he forgot about it for 3 tables , came back and almost gave my credit card to a different table as he forgot who’s it was.

Autumn deck sunny afternoon enjoyment. Early dinner, busy parents weekend at college, same ol’ great food - burger yummy, super onion rings, great salad and Asian curry noodles exceptional.

Eat here everytime we are in Oneonta. The restaurant is a Main Street staple for decades. Love the service, atmosphere, and almost always the food. The problem is that more times than not, the fries are crispy crumbs the size of a pinky finger nail. 2 out of 3 meals Saturday had the bottom of the bag fries crumbs. Kind of sucks. You need to do better
Response to the owners response to me:
My review was to bring a situation, that you may not be aware of, to your attention.
You ignored this, and attempted to place blame on me, and my family, for receiving a crappy meal.
Duly noted. I just degraded my review.
Fresh cut fries are an option.
You are welcome for the tip.

This used to be one of my favorite places to eat. I tried it after new owners took over. Service was terrible. Food arrived cold. The only redeeming qualities were the drinks and the atmosphere of the back deck. I’ll choose a different place on my next visit. And to respond to the comment from the owners - I would have tried to find a manager or talk to our waitress if I could have found her. We felt practically ignored.

Thank you for getting the Autumn cafe open again!!! It is my absolute favorite place in the world. I grew up in here and it’s just as delicious, 30 years later <3

Had dinner here with my wife and daughter. Everything was delicious. The food was well crafted and Nate, our server, was excellent. I would definitely eat here again.

I usually don’t give one star reviews but today I had to. I visited the Autumn cafe with my husband and teenage son for lunch and we sat out on the deck which was nice but the menu is super small and the lemonade was nasty, after we ordered our food it took 45 mins to get to our table and we didn’t even order anything crazy my son ordered a cheeseburger, my husband a brisket sandwich and me a fried chicken sandwich and none of us enjoyed the food my chicken was burnt to a crisp and had very nasty seasoning on it, my husbands brisket was literally all fat (not exaggerating) and my sons burger had to be sent back to the kitchen cause it was raw. Staff was not nice at least our waitress was not pleasant slamming glasses on the table pretty hard and not checking on us to see how our lunch was going once and it was $70 which is insane put into perspective a regular cheeseburger with fries at a regular probably costs $ 13-15 on average my sons cheeseburger was $20! Overall a horrible experience will not come back and do not recommend!!!!!

I’m always looking for a nice breakfast/brunch spot. It was either the Latte Lounge or Autumn’s Cafe & we wanted more brunch vibes.
The Classic Egg Benedict was delicious! We ordered a couple of the Local platters. The espresso & strawberry mimosas were good.
The seating is cozy & the staff was welcoming. We had a reservation for 11:30am for 6 people. We didn’t realize the time & got there 45 minutes early (never happens lol) but the hostess was able to accommodate us which was great. I do recommend making a reservation because by 12:30 there were definitely more people.
There’s a full bar inside & outdoor seating available which is nice because you have a view of the mountains. Parking is a little tricky because they’re fixing one of the sidewalks on the side streets but there is street parking in front.
Overall, we had a good time & service was good. Our waiter was nice & answered any of our questions.

Just a really great experience. Service like you'd expect, but is becoming more rare. Food done right. Great portions. Good beer list.
My husband and I made a reservation for our Anniversary Dinner tonight. Worst experience ever from food to service. Obvious the owner was not in the house. I finally had to walk up and ask for our check as we had just sat there for over 20 minutes trying to get someone’s attention. Paid our bill and left and wrote “worse service ever” on the check. My husband also waited for 20 minutes to get a beer after my drink came and the food was tolerable at best. Really disappointing as Autumn Cafe had decent in the past.

Great old world vibe.
We made reservations. Went as soon as they opened not as many people then. The outdoor seating area is gorgeous. Everything on the menu was definitely unique. I felt a bit like they were reaching a bit far with some of the combinations. Trying to be bougie. My company and I ended up ordering: 1.)House Braised Brisket
Sandwich. Harissa brisket, blueberry slaw, guajillo coffee jus, brioche bun, friesor chips 2.)Fried Chicken Sandwich
Chicken thigh, collard greens chowchow, mayo, brioche, fries or chips 3.)B.L.T.
House-made cafe wheat bacon, lettuce, tomato, sun dried tomato aioli, fries or chips
House 4.) Beef Burger
Bibb lettuce, tomato, onion, brioche bun, fries or chips 5.)Shrimp & Grits
Anson Mills corn grits, fennel, creamy sausage & pepper gravy, shrimp.
The braised brisket sandwich. Tasted like a piece of fatty flavorless pot roast. My entire bottom bun was wet ,soggy and inedible. The blueberry slaw on it was surprisingly flavorless as well. It didn't taste sweet at all. The Fried chicken sandwich came out extremely hot. Waited for it to cool before could eat. The outside was flavored well and very crispy thick battered. It crumbles off extremely easy with every bite though. Leaving you with a over dried piece of chicken. Also the chow chow on the chicken sandwich tasted yucky and out of place. The burger was a burger. The BLT was ok. The shrimp and grits upset my friends stomach. She was in th bathroom for over ten minutes before we left and didn't finish or take home the rest of her meal. The atmosphere is great the staff were friendly.
