If you are in the area you really need to try this neat place out! Food was 10 out of 10 and ambience was amazingly. Highly recommend!

A beer, a wine, one Caesar salad over $40.Just a place where if money doesn't count you just stop.

I ordered the steak and eggs this morning. The steak was delicious, dare I say better than the local steak house in town. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sides were very good as well. I will be back for the same thing again for sure.

Kid-friendliness: The staff was very helpful and kind.

The waitress didn’t seem very friendly, as it seems like the loss of a package of sugar due to a kid playing with her was a bigger concern than the happiness of the child. We just ordered two slices of cake and drinks, the coffee was cold when the cake arrived about 15 minutes later. As a joke the waitress said with a laugh, it was made freshly for us. The cake was still frozen, delicious as it was, still frozen. For a slice of cake that cost between 7 and 7.50 a slice I would’ve expected more than a frozen cake. When we were done, the lady was fast to take the plates and ask us if we wanted the check right away, too as it seemed the only thing she wanted from us was to leave as fast as possible to make room for guests who come for more than just a slice of cake each.

Food has been good, but I have concerns over safety for food allergies. We have eaten here multiple times, over the last few years. I have dietary restrictions and have ordered appropriately and informed the server when we dine in. When I order online I select the correct option to either get the gluten free option or pay the up charge for the “go gf” option. My concerns are from having received various items when I order them on different occasions. Once when we were dining in I ordered gluten free French toast. I was very suspicious when a delicious looking brioche like bread came out. I even mentioned to the server that it seemed too good to be gluten free, and she chuckled and said yeah the chef is amazing huh. So I took that as yeah that’s just how good the gluten free French toast is. But then I order it again another time and I get a very obviously gluten free bread version. This made me very suspicious that I received the wrong food before.
I also have ordered the “gluten free plain bagel” and got a very delicious bagel. Was surprised at how good it was. But another time I order the same thing and get an Udi’s bagel, very different from what I’ve gotten before. It also isn’t described to have cream cheese or anything on the bagel, so I ordered today and put a note in that I wanted it untoasted and plain, expecting just the bagel, but when I got home I saw it was loaded with cream cheese. Since it was already labeled as a plain bagel I thought my note of “plain” would have been taken as nothing on it, especially since it isnt listed with cream cheese included. I had to throw it away because I can’t eat cream cheese and also I was expecting that delicious bagel I received before, that I now suspect I received a regular bagel.
I feel my trust has been broken here and it isn’t safe to eat anymore. I am so disappointed to have lost another of the very few options to eat at here.

Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free items marked, however I have received non gluten free items when ordered on multiple occasions. Do not trust their kitchen.

I've been visiting Social Eats in Oneonta for about two and a half years, and it never misses. The food is absolutely spectacular, especially the eggs benedict, which is always perfectly made, and their pastries are out of this world. Every time I go, I know I'm in for a treat.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for that laid-back cafe vibe. Whether I'm grabbing a bite with friends or enjoying some quiet time alone, it's always a comfortable spot to be.

Service is generally great as well, though it can get a little busy, and when that happens, the attention can wane a bit, which can be frustrating at times. However, the servers are always super kind and attentive, and they make up for the occasional wait with their positive attitude.

All in all, Social Eats is a gem in Oneonta that I keep coming back to, it’s never let me down!

Menu is definitely fancier than the food. Boasting "fresh made" but uses bagged potatoe nuggets for breakfast potatoes. Bagel OG is definitely lacking in substance with the small piece of cheese and ham, single fried egg.
Atmosphere is awesome, people are friendly, food we had was just okay.

We were excited to try this place as we just moved to area and are always looking for spots that aren’t a chain. The coffee and golden latte were big but good 👍 unfortunately ALL of our food was ice cold and inedible . Poached egg was cold and hard inside , French fries tasted 2 days old and I dunno , how to you ruin fries ?? Seems like they do morning prep and then never re heat the food again before plating . It’s winter , cook your food. Especially for those prices, plates should be at least warm . We left hungry and pissed . I hope the kitchen gets it together bc there is potential .

Brought my inlaws and fiance in for brunch while checking out wedding venues in the area. Service was quick, very friendly. Coffee is A+, specialty coffee and staff that knows how to operate an espresso machine. Took one star away from food as the greens were wilted and inconsistently dressed but everything else made up for it. Order the social tots!
