Our normal place was closed tonight so we chose hai ru. No regrets. Fresh food, great portions and price. Some of the best white meat sesame chicken lo mein and egg roll ive had in a while.

A reasonably priced, cash only Chinese food that's actually pretty good! If you are ordering a spicy version, take note that it's probably one of the spiciest General Tso's we've ever had. Egg rolls were delicious - nice and crispy!As far as atmosphere, it seemed like the exhaust system didn't work - very oily smell (my clothes and hair smelled pretty bad).The couple that was running it were so sweet!

Beef in the beef and broccoli was like shoe leather. Didn't even smell right. Sweet and sour chicken was also overcooked. Unsure why there was raw chicken on the counter just sitting there, and the door was wide open with flies flying around. 1st time ordering here and never will again.

Seems a little rundown but don't be fooled - it's the best takeout in Rochester! We have always been very happy with the food, the speed and the service. Thick accents sometimes make ordering the tiniest bit difficult but they are always happy to repeat to make sure we both heard right. We have been coming here for over 10 years. Highly recommend!

Modest family run place. Good food, delivered quick and hot. And very pretty ladies work there. The boy seems sad sometimes though. Don't know why. He's handsome enough and speaks good english, he shouldn't have trouble finding a girl friend. American girls are a pain in the butt though...maybe that is why he is so sad. Maybe his sisters are mean to him. idk I give him good tip. Hope he smiles. I give the pretty girl big tip too, hope she comes back next time. Best Szechuan around! Excellent mei fun too (get the House Special). And their buffalo wings are cheap and have an interesting zing to them. Hint of teriyaki maybe....not sure really. I recommend them. Never waste your money on boneless wings from a pizza chain again. Get twice as much food for half the price.*Edit. No more delivery since the Coof hystemic. So I took a star away. Everything else, still true.

I love this little place! super convenient to get my Chinese food fix and everytime has always tasted fantastic. It Is cash only so make sure you bring some :)

The teenage son answered the phone was rude and didn't listen to my order asking for small on everything instead gave and charged me for large. My food was gross tasted like burnt pan and they didnt do anything for me besides yell on the phone.*****they do not deliver even though the advertise they do*** when I went to pick up my pants it was filthy gross! They had a bus boy bin sodding on a rolling tray by the oven and it was stuffed full not on ice just chilling for the 20 mins I was there went back about 45 mins later to see if they would remake it refund my money for the disgusting food and they refused and told me "get out no refund" and zou bet the bus boy bin was still sitting on the cart not covered and not on ice ??

I used to really enjoy going to hiru for the lemon chicken however this time the chicken was very overcooked and dry and I called them to complain and got absolutely no resolution they have lost a customer
