Rochester is blessed with so much wonderful Puerto Rican food and Mamia's Island is definitely high on my list! Stopped by for lunch today for the first time, got a small order of rice and pernil + a beef empanada and everything was DELICIOUS. Flavorful, juicy, just right. This will become a frequent lunch stop.
Amazing as always! I got the boneless chicken thighs in garlic sauce with peppers and the pork. Both melt in your mouth! The rice and beans were so good as well! 10/10 recommend! The person working today was very kind! Everytime I come in the people working are kind!
Food is SO freakin good. Ordered for our 2nd and 3rd shift employees. Delivered food hot and fresh. Best beans, rice and pork there is!!!

The young owners are on site and so very helpful and friendly. The serving sizes are very generous and the atmosphere is impressive. With large choices of flavorful authentic home made Puerto Rican foods served cafeteria style, it is a must-visit for those craving authentic cuisine in Upstate NY.
