I’m a 31-year-old adult with a valid, government-issued California ID, and I was refused entry because the staff apparently couldn’t comprehend that California IDs are a bit more flexible than other states. Instead of handling the situation with any level of professionalism, they treated me like a criminal.
I was forced to plead my case to multiple people just to prove I’m a grown adult — and then the owner himself had the audacity to shove me away and bark “you’re done, it’s a fake ID.” Not only was he completely wrong, but the arrogance and aggression he showed were unreal. No apology, no explanation — just pure attitude and ignorance.
This place doesn’t deserve your money, your time, or your attention. If you want to be humiliated, accused of lying, and physically dismissed for literally doing nothing wrong, then by all means, give Black Smoke your business. Otherwise, steer clear of this dumpster fire of a bar. Total clown show from top to bottom.

Appeared well staffed but service was slow. Sunday brunch with good variety of food, cocktails and cocktails. Relaxed atmosphere. Would go back again.

Went there tonight for dinner restaurant was not too busy. We waited 45 minutes for our food it was rediculous the waitress was so sweet she asked the manager about some kind of compensation he said no only if you wait an hour for your food. Never going there again plus food was not hot!

Went there last night (Friday) 7 pm reservations. Our 1st time there. It was cold , loud and service was slow. Waited a long time for even water - didn’t have the red wine I asked for , nor ipa beer, sandwiches were good, fries I prefer plain not seasoned or coated. Might try again in the summer but don’t count on it

Large group, if your kitchen is closed say something. Don't roll your eyes at us like it's an inconvenience. Only to come back say the kitchen is open late. Bring burt food then ignore guests and be annoyed when they are trying to get a drink order in. Then charge me twice cause you closed the wrong order at a 10$ difference! It's busy I get that but in a restaurant it starts with service!. Very disappointed. For a place that seemed nice. I'd like to give them another shot. But tonight I'd rather just go home.

To start with the positives, the food came out fast, and it was delicious. This is one of the best smash burgers I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the house made sauce and pickles really made it perfect. The sausage and white bean soup of the day was really good. All the cocktails that came from behind the bar looked fantastic. However... this Guinness pour is an absolute abomination. How anyone could look at this Guinness and think it's OK to serve it to a customer is beyond me. Guinness is an art. If you don't know how to treat it, you shouldn't carry it. Would have been an easy 5 star with an acceptable Guinness pour.

The best part was the service. Hostess and server were wonderful. So friendly and welcoming. Food was good, too. it was a bit loud due to the echoing inside, but other than that atmosphere was good. Cocktails were phenomenal.

Food is always great. Drinks are so neat and creative, they can make them “virgin” too if you ask! Every time we get their “handhelds” we always make sure to get a side of their house sauce for the fries it’s so good! We go here like once a week for dinner bc it’s so tasty and reasonable! They DO have gluten free buns with is great. Only thing I could change is adding gluten free pizza crusts like a cauliflower one, and getting some gluten free pasta! Bc I’ve been dying to try their pizzas and buffy chicken Mac n cheese!! Other than that, zero complaints ??

Very nice restaurant in the village of Hamburg with plenty of outside dining and upper terrace. I enjoyed the hand breaded chicken fingers and a mojito. All of the servers were very courteous and attentive.
