Delicious! English descriptions in case your Spanish isn't great, and the servers were kind about finding someone to explain things to us in English as well. Ingredients were fresh, portions were large, and prices were great! Definitely recommend.
Upon arriving I asked to look at the menu and was being seating in the back room. I politely sat down and decided to try it out. The waitress name tammy was so rude , couldnt get one question answered patiently , the busboy and other waitress was helpful. Her attiture threw us off right away. I live right on main so I've tried all the stuff in the area. But this was the worse yet. I wanted to rly like the food bcus the service made me feel so uneasy. We had a white and red sangria. FyI Super sweet, not what I'm use to. The food didn't arrive together and then the steak was overdone when I asked they said it was for the wrong table. Fixed it but I kid you not. Idk what seasoning I was tasting because I have eaten everything around the world and something was off ab the food. I can't describe the flavor, I asked for a hot sauce and that helped but this experience was super disappointing.
Small place, good service, great food -

Bife a Portuguesa and shrimp in garlic were excellent, as was the bread (from a Portuguese bakery in NJ). Who knew there was good Portuguese food so much closer than the Ironbound? Service was solid and friendly. You can eat at the bar and a few tables in the front, which I recommend doing, as the back room is a bit claustrophobic. They really need to update the prices on their menu in Google Maps, however, as they have doubled.

Last 2 times I picked up chicken it was dry, like it had been reheated.
I picked up at 5:30, so probably leftovers from lunch.
And they charge too much for chips/sides.
I’m about to give up on this place.

Small and busy location, sometimes difficult to get a table. The food is excellent and fresh upon order. It is worth the wait.

We stopped in to get sandwiches to-go and we enjoyed the pork sandwich and chicken sandwich. Will definitely return to try other things on the menu!

New ownership and staff took over around 2021...still continuing what they do best with his their roasted chicken over charcoal...the only difference vs the past is that the sides( like chips/fries and rice ) is not included...also recommend majority of their seafood dishes, and my favorite " Gambas a Mozambique ", which are huge Tiger Praws...space in limited to dine in, but majority of ppl do take out as well...staff is great and have a caipirinha as well( many flavors offered )

I come here since 2009. I know that there was a change in the management around 2021 but the quality of the Portuguese food is still there. For the past 2 years I have been living in PA but every time I can, I make a bullet visit with my daughter so we can have a little taste of Portugal. I also like the ladies working there, from the lady in the kitchen to the ladies serving, everyone has been really friendly to us. Obrigado! :)

I ordered chicken, they brought me half raw, the service is average because one of the ladies is rude and treats the customer as if she were doing us a favor and they don't allow access to all the tables they have.
