Over the past weekend the winery hosted a Halloween-type event, and I reached out in advance to see whether we could do tastings separately from that, and was informed that while they weren't taking reservations, Hosmer would still do regular tastings. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We arrived, asked to do a tasting and were informed that the only way to do a tasting was with the event outdoors. We are six+ hours away from the region and were disappointed to arrive and learn that. At least there are other vineyards in the area to visit and discover.

Wine tasting on the W of Cayuca Lake. Attracted to this winery by the description of sustainability farming. Preferring red wines, the most robust looked and tasted like a spiked koolaid. The top Naomi Resiling was good - a great bubbly. The tasting room lacked character charactecharacterjulackedcharacter but the front gardens were in full bloom

My husband and I did not get a tasting flight because we arrived after 5:00, but we received a complimentary taste in a shared glass of two wines and bought a cold bottle for our evening sip. The vibe is modern. The wine is authentic and the service was very accommodating.

Hosmer Winery was such a nice surprise. I had read ahead and saw that they had several wines I would like. We had no idea that it would be as cool as it was. We were so lucky we were there on a day with live music. It was such a fun atmosphere. The music was great. We decided to have wine slushies since it was such a warm day over Labor Day weekend. The raspberry was so good and so flavorful. Unfortunately, the pineapple wasn't super flavorful but it was ok. The people were all very nice, welcoming and willing to help. In fact, we poked our head in, saw what it was like and then were going back to our car to get our chairs. One of the female employees saw and ran after us. She wanted to make sure we were ok and weren't upset. We then told her it looked so cool and so much fun that we wanted to get our chairs to hang out. That is excellent service. Definitely come check them out and support them. They're fantastic.

My favorite winery on our most recent Finger Lakes trip. Enjoyed all the wines I sampled and the staff was friendly and informative. A very quaint stop that is a nice change from the large amd busy places. Highly recommend

Hosmer was a very nice Winery, great nice people. The semi-sweet Riesling wasn't quite up to their usual par.... stocked up on the state red. The pasta red was very delicious and we grabbed some. The Cayuga White also warranted praises and purchasing. One of the best of the six wineries we visited in the last 3 days.

Compared to some of our other favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes, these wines are mediocre. We visited for the first time last week on a weekday, not a busy time. I paid for a tasting, but wished to taste a couple extra wines since we only visit that area once or twice per year and looked forward to re-stocking our wine cellar. Our server would not allow me to try an additional wine I wanted to taste and was rather snitty about it. I consider it their loss, as I won't buy a wine I am not able to taste. Most other wineries will allow additional samplings if requested because their goal is to sell their wines. I don't expect to come back given so many other good wineries to visit.

Janie and Connor are wonderful! They should receive a bonus! Great service. Great wine. May join the wine club soon.

Hosmer always has a great selection of wine and recommend it highly. I am happy to see they are doing normal (precovid) style tastings and not flights. Your experience can be more fun when you can talk about the wine with the person serving it. I went to many of the wineries in the area and it was my favorite.

I lived in the area for a year and tried dozens of Rieslings. Hosmer was my favorite, the semi-dry and dry are excellent. I bought a case and asked for it to be shipped to MT. Everything came in perfect condition and they also shipped a thank you note : )

I haven't been to Hosmer in years, a bad experience while on a group wine tour a few years ago made me hesitant to return. I visited for their haunted wine walk event today and honestly was underwhelmed. The wines they chose for the event were lackluster, although I realize that taste of wine in particular is extremely subjective. The event itself was confusing for guests, with many people not realizing that they could get two tastings at every station. It was nearly impossible to find out any information about the event prior to attending, which for those with anxiety, diet, or social concerns, was irritating. The food offered with each wine was also lacking, and didn't center around a theme or seem to match particularly well with the flavors of the wine on offer. There weren't enough spaces for people to eat at during the actual Walk, although there were more spaces outside. The best part of the entire day was the apple cider mimosa we got after the main event (for an extra charge). That was extremely tasty. The souvenir glass was also really cute. Overall it was just kind of a meh experience.
