Your spaghetti and meatballs were excellent!
Really good food and friendly service. Metro's is the same today as it was when I first frequented 40 yrs ago. The food is very good and meals & cocktails are affordable. Truly a gem with long time dedicated customers.
Wish I had taken a picture of the Raspberry Cream Pie I had, made by Steve, the owner. It had a heavenly homemade crust & extra whipped cream. Metro's is the 'Yellow ribbon round the old Oak tree' of Owego, NY.
It is as welcoming to regulars who live nearby as to those of us who make a pilgrimage for their pizza whenever we return home.
Metro's is a restaurant that offers a generous helping of spaghetti and meatballs for $7 on special from Wednesday to Sunday. The meatballs can be mashed to make an excellent meat sauce. The blue cheese salad dressing is highly regarded, and the service is friendly and exceptional, especially during busy hours. The interior of the restaurant is retro and nostalgic, possibly unchanged since the 70s or 80s, and it is kept very clean. The wait staff is pleasant, and the food is delicious, including the wings with hot sauce and perfectly cooked haddock. Customers appreciate the affordable meals and cocktails, making it a gem for long-time dedicated customers. The chicken Parm and homemade salad dressing are particularly good. Desserts, like the Raspberry Cream Pie made by owner Steve, can sell out quickly, so it is recommended to arrive early. The restaurant remains a "go-to place" for good meals in a casual atmosphere, welcoming both regulars and newcomers alike. The beer selection, however, is not impressive, but prices are reasonable, and the food is delivered in a reasonable timeframe.
