Mario's Pizzeria of Oyster Bay

Not as consistently good as itvused to be.
My husband always takes me here when we're in town and this is traditionally been one off if not our favorite Long Island Pizza.
he always orders playing cheese and It's never disappointed... until this time.
Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad but not worth the long anticipated drive and effort.
We asked them to be as generous as possible with the cheese without stepping into extra cheese because that would just be too much.
but unlike our past experiences, look at my pictures.
The amount of cheese was less than what you would expect on a normal house pie, and the pizza was a bit overcooked kind of gave it a hard cardboard like crust that we ended up mostly not even eating. 😭

We will go back but if the experience is the same, we're sadly going to have to remove this place from our list, which will be a sad day because as I understand it, this was the original Mario's, and the only one that traditionally has been consistently great cheese pizza.

Ordered two slices and a spinach roll . The roll was disgusting ! RAW dough and tasted like canned spinach from Popeye . 🤮🤮

One of our slices the “Chicago” a deep dish style was ALSO raw dough. Whoever preps these premade slices/rolls needs to be retrained before someone gets sick

Mario’s has stayed consistently good across their menu for my 39 years of living in Oyster Bay. Solid pizza, good salads, and everything else that I have tried I have enjoyed.

The vodka pizza is what makes me drive damn near 40 minutes to get. Easy to order over the phone everything was ready when I got there. Love their white pizza. Plain and pepperoni are always good but all the speciality pizzas of theirs I’ve had so far are really good.

I love this pizza place I can't say enough good things about the food, management and employees.
the pizza is excellent Do you know how to make nice and crust with above average delicious sauce and high quality generous portions of mozzarella (taste like Grande brand, but I never asked).
On top of that, it's probably the best enlargest comfortable sit down dining room that doesn't require waiter service that you have to tip for.

Slice of Taco pizza. It was really disgusting. Doesn't taste like a taco, weird flavored meat mix. Cheese tasted like velveeta. Couldn't finish it. Don't recommend.

I’ve been to this pizzeria today— the pizza is delicious and they have a great variety. There’s also a really nice guy, Konstantin, working there. I’ll be happy to come back again!

Some very good pizza! Heros were good as well. Never had the pasta. They left a strong impression on me with the quality and how the staff works quickly and together. Very nice to see.

In oyster bay for 17 years and the service today was enough for me to never ever order from them again. I placed and order for delivery last week and received the wrong order. Placed an order for delivery today and provided delivery instructions and received a call from a number. I’m thinking it’s the delivery person but this person claims to be someone else wanting to make sure I received My order and telling me it was just left outside. Now why am I paying a tip for you to leave my order outside unattended. I called The store to find out who it was and whomever I spoke With did not care. I will NOT be ordering from here moving forward.

There have been mishaps with my food before but I’ve chalked it up to human error and continued to order from them, however, more times than not there has been issue. I have always tipped for my delivery and been perfectly nice as you should when speaking to people yet I can’t help but sense some type of issue to the point where I have wondered if my food has been messed with.

After this delivery debacle I had called the store to complain and whomever I was speaking to was so callous and just kept saying sorry I will talk to the driver and as I was still voicing my concerns, hung up on me.

This is my experience, and I cannot help but think this may be some type of prejudice. I’ve been nothing but nice even when things have been messed up and continued to try and support a local business.

Today is my last day doing that.
