Really overpriced and extremely outdated restaurant. I suspect back in the 50s and 60s it was a grand place to be (as per the actual racetrack venue itself). Unfortunately it’s been unloved for years and is crumbling and falling apart. As a horse racing enthusiast however I’ll refuse to give it the lowest rating as at least I can tick Aqueduct off my bucket list!

Loved the food and the friendly and hard working staff. This restaurant was a wonderful place to sit, eat, and enjoy the days racing.

The 70's ambiance abounds at Aqueduct. The food (and service) at Equestris was subpar; not worth the $65 buffet fee....but you can enter the Equestris and watch the horses, place bets, have a drink or 2.....it's what a day at the races used to be, just good fun!

I had a fantastic experience at this spot. We enjoyed the great ambience and the menu. The waiters are super amiable. I’m content we ultimately managed to try this place.

Totally overpriced and bad food. Really nothing good to say. Once they became part of the casino it went from bad to worse.

This was our 4th visit to Equestris over a 2 year period, here is what we've seen: the performance of the servers is in decline, slow service and indifferent attitudes are the best description we can describe. There was no official Wood Memorial drink this year, seriously? On a positive note, the carpets, tables and utensils are always clean, our server was very courteous, the atmosphere was pleasant and the view is great. $100 per person is a good value. We will definitely return.

Aqueduct is what it is - winter thoroughbred racing in New York. It's never going to be Belmont or Saratoga. But - especially for the Derby prep weekend races in March and April - there is a good time to be had here. The third floor restaurant, Equestris is especially nice. If you use the owner's entrance on the south side of the building (same side as the big horse and jockey mural) and take the elevator straight to the third floor you won't experience anything unsightly or unpleasant. And once you get into the Equestris Restaurant its really nice - white linen tables, friendly hostess, and (importantly) well-to-do patrons. There's a dress code at Equestris. You don't need a suitcoat or blazer but you will want to be dressed nicely. If you want to wear a really good suit and look sharp (or put on a nice dress and jewelry) you will not be alone. This is where the owners go to watch and eat - often with friends and family. The buffet is excellent and the waitstaff is attentive. If you want to go watch some races at trackside, you'll need to take the escalator down a couple of floors and wade through the unwashed masses, but that's nothing you haven't done or seen before as a racing fan. The bathrooms I experienced were fine. I've been to Aqueduct a handful of times and never had a particularly bad experience - its just not Belmont in spring or Saratoga in summer, and it never will be.
