I enjoyed the food and the service Hope gave us. But…. They have outside music that has no volume control so be careful where you sit. Of course, if they’re busy good luck with the valet and the limited parking.
Can not beat the view, the food, or the atmosphere. Whether enjoying a cocktail at the outside bar during the summer, or cozied up indoors during the winter, Drift 82 is a hidden gem in Patchogue, away from the crowds on Main Street.
been looking forward to this all week. dinner with the family. clams oreganata,(NO OREGENATA) just dried breadcrumbs and tasked like oregano. steak tip bit were dry and old. shrimps were definitely already cooked shrimp heated up with lemon and butter! salmon good but seasoning sucked. mussels with white wine and butter (I think they forget to put the wine in) tasted like butter and water.1/2 a duck came it was 2 legs!!!!!! the steaks were very good, we should have ordered all steaks.....who knew DRIFT82 you would assume seafood! this place is overpriced for the quality of food they serve. I have read the reviews and see them getting 4 and 5 stars.....Im thinking these are boaters who stop to drink and quick appetizers. if you on the water and want drinks and quick apps.....maybe.......but if you taking your family out......NOPE not worth it. don't think we will be back.
The location is waterfront on the Patchogue River. We pulled in by boat and enjoyed live music, drinks and appetizers at the tiki. Everyone was happy. Thats where it should have ended. But, we decided to get a table and have dinner here. It was busy-we put our name on the list and asked fir a specific area to eat in outside. We were told our table was being set and it was pointed out. We went to collect the group and came back to see another party at our table. We waited and were given another table. We ordered drinks and shared tomato mozzarella platters for the table. Well...the drinks came but no food. They dud give us a round of drinks for the wait. Ok thanks. Then 45 minutes later, still no entrees. We felt like we had been sitting at this cement seat table for hours-because we had. The view, and food are good-service was terrible. This is strictly a drinking bar. We wont be dining here again.
My wife asked me about finding a nice clam bar/ seafood restaurant in Patchogue. So, I called my boss who knows some really great places to eat. He recommended Drift82 to me and said that we'd really enjoy it. So, on Memorial Day, 2022, we get ourselves together and go there. What an excellent place for wonderful food and atmosphere! We were greeted by our server Elena S. and made to feel welcome. Once we placed our orders, in a very short amount of time we enjoyed fresh, crispy garden salads. Next, we enjoyed three different appetizers and, of course, the nice bowl of Lobster Bisque. Then, there was a nice break between all of this and the main courses. We needed this short spell to get ready for them and this break was welcomed. Our main courses contained plenty to eat and were obviously cooked fresh and were served piping hot. My wife had 2 glasses of wine and me- well, coffee does me just fine. Now, for desert, one large piece of far out cheese cake with two forks. The bill was NO PROBLEM AT $212.00!! (...and THAT did not include the nice tip I gave Elena. She made sure to regularly check on us to see that we were satisfied with each part of our meals and was a real pleasure to have taking care of us). To those who have complained about this place being "Pricey" and the food not being that great- I beg to differ. If you read the menu on-line before going there, or getting there and waiting a few minutes to read a menu, you would have had an idea of the approximate cost of your meals. You could have then decided to eat elsewhere if it was going to be more than you had hoped to spend. When it comes to going out to dinner, if you are looking for excellent food at "Dollar Menu" prices, stay home and cook for yourself. Dropping a "One Star" on this place for the "pricey" reason is completely inappropriate. We will be back again to enjoy some of the other goodies on the menu and hell, if I don't have to drive, I might even have a glass of wine. Drift82 deserves a 5-star and that's why I took the time to write this review and award them just that. Dan Prunty
I've never eaten here, I was looking for some choices for a good seafood dinner in my area.thanks to the image of a sign stating that opinions about the world that differ from their own will not be tolerated I can eliminate this place, if they ever reopen.
... you'll find Drift 82, a five-year-old restaurant that is casual, quaint, friendly and all the wood resembles driftwood! We went for lunch on a chilly, gray day, well before the busy summer season and found we had the place and the staff to ourselves. We sat at the bar chatting with Robert, the bartender. We'd been so taken with Drift's appetizer menu, we decided to focus on a medley of apps for our lunch today. We started with oysters, raw and Rockefeller, and both were good. This was followed by the Marinated Steak Tidbits, one of their signature dishes, which we shared and devoured - loved that marinade! Chicken Wings are always a fair choice and they were again. And, Robert said we could take-out food too, so we ordered a Beef Carpaccio and the Shrimp & Lobster Wontons to-go. Oh I forgot to mention our delicious cocktails - 2 Margaritas straight-up with salt. They have a very original list of specialty drinks too, that varies with the season. The restaurant is a bit out of the way but you can't miss their large white tent, which allowed them to double their business during COVID. Now that says a lot about this fun waterfront eatery with delicious food and a friendly staff.
We arrived around 3:30...there were 3 of us. We were seated outside, not even given the option to dine inside, but the weather was nice, so no big deal. It wasn't crowded, only 2 other tables had customers The waiter was quick to bring water and take drink orders. Once the drinks came we ordered an appetizer, artichoke and spinach dip. That was ok. Then we waited, and waited and WAITED for our meals! 45 minutes later, they finally came....food was nothing special. There were several waitstaff on hand sometimes standing around, so it didn't seem to be a lack of employees, just a lack of speed in the kitchen.
Jenna is a keeper. Great service.
Fantastic dining experience. We elected to sit in the bar area, at a high top table. Such a cozy and warm feel. Service very attentive and friendly. Ordered a variety of appetizers each of which was prepared deliciously (mussels (white), clams and Cajun ahi tuna. Followed by a cobb salad, and a wonderful wine selection. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

We arrived to find out they only had valet parking. Seems they turned their gravel lot into outdoor dining. We were able to park up the street a little, which wasn't an issue. It was set up very nicely under a tent with tables set at least 6' apart. Employees all had on face masks. One of the things I like most was the waitress took the order, brought our drinks and checked up on us (Amanda, very attentive), they had runners bringing the food to the table and bus people to clear up. Waitress wasn't bringing food and then busing a table of dirty dishes. We ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi sandwich which was tasty. Another bonus...we didn't have to get fries as a side we could get a side salad, which was also tasty. The only thing that was done that I didn't like was them adding "Merchant Fee" to the bill. It's a fee to cover the cost of using your credit card, but I didn't see any mention of it on the menu. They just assumed I was paying with a credit card, but I had the cash to pay the bill.
We called and ordered dinner for 6pm pick up! Wonderful oysters Rockefeller seafood fra Diablo And lobster roll with chips !!!! Ready and we picked up just and !! Steaming hot and wonderful!!!glad you are open
