Shands is the coziest & most beautiful spot! The ambiance and service was so warm & welcoming upon entering. We had a seat up in front for some prime people watching on the Patchogue strip - it's such a nice change from the Brick House to have those front window tables! Extra points when the windows are open on nice days.
The craftsmanship in each cocktail, appetizer, entree, and dessert are obvious at first glance and later at first bite/sip. I also appreciate the quality offerings of the mocktail menu so those of us that don't drink can still enjoy a social tonic 🫶🏽
Looking forward to being back in town for another visit soon!

Five stars all the way! This new spot has an incredible vibe—think trendy, cozy, and welcoming all at once. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate my allergies without missing a beat, and the menu was full of creative and delicious options. Everything I tried was absolutely perfect, and it’s clear they put a lot of thought into every detail, from the décor to the flavors. Can’t wait to come back and bring friends. Highly recommend!
Shands General is a beautiful restaurant with top of the line service the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the steak tartare which comes on a bone marrow brûlée and with a nice thick sourdough. I couldn’t stop eating it so we ordered another plate of it!! The drink menu was also impressive to say the least. The bar is super cool looking and immediately catches your eye. So cozy. Great location for a date night or drinks and apps with friends. Also loved the ice cubes that had the logo on it! Lots of great things about Shands. Will definitely be here for other special events and celebrations. If you can, ask to reserve a table at the large wooden tables by the bar! Cozy booth and can sit 10 or so people!
Dietary restrictions: They were able to accommodate my wife who is gluten free and has allergies to seasonings that are tough to work with. Very responsive kitchen and staff!
So great to see the beautiful renovation of this historic building! Cocktails, food, service, atmosphere, and cleanliness are 10/10. Same goes for The Stateroom upstairs too!

The food is incredible, my favorites were the Guif Shrimp and the Steak Tartare. Drinks were delicious and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Can’t wait to dine here again!

Beautiful build out and it’s not just good looks. Acclaimed Long Island chef doesn’t disappoint with a fun and refined menu, with the front of house to properly present and make everyone from the bar to restaurant feel at home. Enjoyed everything that came out. Tahini dressing on the salad was amazing. Steak frites with the pork steak as well as the eggplant were standouts. We’ll def be back.

I’ve been going to Shands frequently since they opened and can’t recommend it enough. The establishment fills a void in a busy town loaded with sub-par pub food, or restaurants that price gauge for the sake of opulence and nothing else. Chef Francis and his team are a think tank for creative, yet approachable delicious menus executed with flawless consistency and expertise. The bar staff are endlessly talented and filled with palpable passion that makes guests feel excited to order another round. When you pay the bill here you are satisfied and happy with where you chose to spend your time and money. They’re doing everything right here. How lucky are we (Patchogue residents) to have this beacon of culinary talent in our town?

The decor was beautiful, the vibe was right and the food was creative and delicious. I had a makers choice gin drink which was perfect. We started with the cheese plate which was delish, we just really needed a cheese knife to make our lives easier. The burger and grilled salmon were amazing. The carrots over ricotta and honey was perfectly prepared. Every ingredient tasted clean! Cannot wait to return!
