Grill on South Ocean is the prior South Ocean grill but newer and better! It’s a cozy restaurant, where the food is fresh and delicious. My husband and I went here for dinner with our Labrador and sat out on their cute patio. Staff were so accommodating and so amazingly attentive! We ordered Bourbon Chicken bite (so tender), Mushroom and Goat Cheese flat bread (off the chart amazing), Old fashion Burger and GSO gulf shrimp pasta. Will certainly come back!

The restaurant is NOT open for dinner or take-out even though they are taking reservations & people's $$ for take-out orders. We made a reservation & showed up to a closed up restaurant & a guy outside trying to figure out how to get his money back from a take-out order he placed. Do NOT place an order or reservation! This shouldn't even be an option on here!

Opentable Diner

We love South Ocean Grill, however they are currently closed for renovations. We found out the hard way after being able to book through Opentable, showing up for our reservations only to find out that they are closed! Disappointing for sure!! I've checked Google and their website and neither mention their temporary closure. Looks like someone dropped the ball in updating info!

Opentable Diner

Restaurant wasn't open even though we had a confirmed reservation, which I now see is a frequent complaint. If you are going to close for renovations or whatever else, give your reservation platform a heads up. I'll never try this place again or recommend.

Booked a reservation for Valentine'sDay pulled up to the restaurant to find its pitch black and closed for renovations! 6pm on a Friday night and Valentines Day! Don't book this reservation on open table ! Call the restaurant to find out if they are open first.

We made a reservation for Valentine's Day & when we got there the place was closed with no sign on the door & the phone was out of service. Extremely disappointing & unprofessional. They should've stopped taking reservations.

We made reservations forValentine,s Day. When we arrived at the restaurant it was closed. No sign on the door explaining why it was closed. Other diners drove up and said they had reservations too. I tried calling the telephone number no answer. Later we found out it was under new ownership and it was closed for renovations.

Out of town and in search of a neighborhood gem, my colleague and I decided to check this place out. Absolutely adorable little house and the inside seating area was comfortable and made you feel like you’re at home. We ordered an appetizer, meal and dessert and the food from start to finish was delicious. The key lime pie IS all it’s hyped up to be! It was a Sunday evening and there were 2 tables seated when we arrived, that’s it. The gentleman who served us was not very engaged, and seemed polite but not into his job or serving us as it took awhile for him to come over and even say hello (wait he didn’t say hello or welcome). Would have been 5 stars except for service.

We went here last night and had an amazing time! The server/bartender/everything was phenomenal. From her personality to her professionalism it was a superb experience. The food was top notch. We will be back.

I had never been here before, but now that I've tried it I'll definitely be back! We enjoyed the ambiance of the indoor area, but since it was a nice day we ate outside. They had a nice little area off to the side, which was relaxed and inviting. We ordered some drinks and appetizers, both were delightful. The crab cake was one of the best I've had on the island. Not too much breading and the crab meat was fresh and flavorful. I am glad I found this place and I look forward to eating more of their delicious food!

****I went back, and wish I hadn’t, I took someone for their birthday and it was not a great experience.. their food was terrible, and they hated it. And honestly, it wasn’t the same at all sadly, place is small to begin with and it was empty aside from 2 regular locals .. yet service was still slow and they seemed unenthusiastic to be there, rude. Food wasn’t as good as it once had been. Save for the crab cake, that was still decent thankfully. But the potatoes were dry and weird and the salmon was not good.

Went there for a birthday dinner. It was horrible . I had salmon and roasted potatoes and veg. The potatoes must of been boiled it was just terrible . The only thing I enjoyed was the person I was with .

Nice local restaurant has a friendly neighborhood atmosphere with simple understated decor. When we arrived for our reservation, the place was filled and our host welcomed us and showed us to our table immediately. There is a nice varied menu selection and everything was delicious and reasonably priced. We would definitely go back.
