The food is decent, but I hope the owner knows this place is run worse than any other restaurant I have ever been at in my life. We have tried going there no less than half a dozen times and every time they say they’re closing the kitchen is closed or they’re closing early yet again today their hours stay open till nine we show up at 7:30 and they say they’re closed. I hope their owner knows they’re losing money handover fest. I will never go back again the food the one time we were fortunate enough to eat there wasn’t bad it was actually pretty decent, but everything else is the worst and the water smells really bad.

The (Veteran) owner and staff took their time for decor and have a nice varied menu. Our friends Jim and Liz introduced us and we returned with family as well.

Ughhh I wanted to love it so much. I LOVE the atmosphere and the service was fine but there were only 3 tables and the woman seemed like she couldn’t handle it. What I truly cannot believe is a caesar salad with shrimp was $26. I was expecting an amazing salad. It was actually horrible. The lettuce was old and gross, there was barely any dressing, no croutons and just no flavor. Even at the most expensive restaurant you wouldn’t find a salad that expensive and it would be better. Overheard a convo with an another customer and he explained he didn’t eat meat, only seafood and the seafood salad he ordered had chicken in it. Waitress didn’t do anything except apologize. Good thing that wasn’t me.

This was my first experience at south ocean grill. Friends from out of town were visiting and we made a reservation for 8pm. The night started off great— our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was quite good. Unfortunately, I did not realize this place closes at 930pm on Fridays. We ordered many food and drinks. At 9:15pm we ordered another round of drinks, and we were brought the check. We paid the check and as we were enjoying our drinks we were told by the waitress to please hurry up as they were closing. I understand now that the restaurant closes at 930pm, but at the time I was extremely jarred. While they were polite in their delivery of this message, it felt like we were forced to try to finish our $14 drinks quickly and get out of the restaurant. While the food was quite good and the drinks tasty, they should really stop allowing reservations after a certain time if they want to close so early on a Friday. If they planned on telling us we had to go, I would have appreciated being told before ordering a large drink. Overall, the food was quite good, but I would recommend not making a reservation at 8pm as it will be very rushed—especially for a weekend night.

The service is not good. We order here about 10 times a yr to go. I was just on hold for over 15 minutes. The woman said she would be right back to take my order because 3 tables walked in. I was in contact with them.first so she should of just taken My order. This seems to happen almost everytime I call. I understand you're busy but take out orders are business also and it's either you pick up and hang up or don't come back to the phone. I know this has happened to friends also. You should re-train your employees. Edit: my husband just there an ordered and ne his volcano shrimp is not in the bag and he asked her if everything was in the bag. 15.00 for nothing!

My Wife and I were looking for a new spot to go to that we haven't been before. We think we found it. It was very quaint sat in the back corner a large party came in which made it a little less “” quiet “but nothing the restaurant could do about that, we really had a nice time and our server was extremely friendly and didn't rush us at all. We don't get out often without our kids so we wanted to take our time and have a nice night. Thank you very much for the wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back.

We had Thai Shrimp to start, it had a kick but wasn't too spicy. I had scallops and shrimp with risotto, the scallops were absolutely perfect and the shrimp and sauce were good. Wife had the Sirloin steak medium which had good sear and was very tender. Desert was fantastic Key lime pie.

I really like the ambience of this place. It is a quaint small interior with a romantic vibe so good for dates. I think it classy and the food selections are interesting and well presented. I loved the appetizers especially the artichoke dish which was unique. Lastly, the service was impeccable. They were not terribly busy while we were there but the attentiveness by our server Anthony and patience to answer questions was excellent. I would go back!

I have never been disappointed at the South Ocean Grill. The food is homemade, unique, and always outstanding. The kale salad and goat cheese/spinach flat bread are to die for. The atmosphere is casual, cozy, and friendly. The staff and service is amazing. If you get Helen, she is the best waitress ever! The location is only a few minutes down South Ocean Ave., away from the hustle and bustle of Main St. and very close to water. It is my go to restaurant.

I do love this restaurant.. the food I'd delicious. The waitress is lovely and very accommodating but she could use some assistance. The wait for my appetizer was too long . It was midweek but the place was nearly full so two wait staff would make it perfect!

Scallop/shrimp risotto was awesome. Quiet ambiance. Service was terrific. Will definitely be back

Fresh fruit margaritas are delicious. But for $14 the glass they now serve is small, and a lot of ice. Food is always amazing but a margarita should be in a margarita glass not an in the ricks glass. In a world where everything is shrinking i get it, but $14 not fare to charge good customers.
