Such a fun time every time we go! The service was above and beyond and we all love the food (even the people not big on seafood!) I always get the skirt steak and the oysters/clams. My mom swears by the seafood bisque. And I couldn't get enough of the pumpkin martinis!
Soups, mussels and scallops were very good. Drinks were fin . Salads lacked imagination and flavor coordination. Tomatoes in Caprese salad wete terrible. Take it off your menu.

I’ve been to the oar multiple times. Their coconut martini is out of this world and really what drives me to go there. They have wonderful prefixed dinners on certain nights and everything that you eat there will melt your taste buds. The vibe is nice. The staff is nice. The one thing unfortunately is that they are not dog friendly outside. However, I would return as this place is so tasty.
We spent the afternoon, at The Oar, in Patchogue.
We started off inside the Bar, but soon moved outside, to enjoy the last vestiges of warm weather.
They have a great Happy Hour, and Bartender Beth, besides being one of the most efficient Bartenders on the South Shore, is a hoot.... Great person..
Food was good, drinks better, service beyond excellent
We will be going back here
Missed all the food pictures, but I had the mussels in white sauce. They were some of the best mussels I've had in a long time..
It gets very crowded, so get there early.. Mary, the manager, and Beth the bartender, keep things going in the right direction,, Very pleasant people to deal with

A group of friends got together for a lunch and wanted to try a Seafood restaurant with a water view. We chose The Oar House based on reviews and previous experience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the menu had good choices. We ordered from the specials menu which offered an appetizer and an entree for $26.00. Our group ordered Fish and Chips, Crispy Panko Soft Shell Crab Sandwich, a Shrimp and Gnocchi dish and a Reuben on Rye. Everyone was happy with their choices and I was especially happy with my Reuben (I'm not a fish lover). The corned beef melted in your mouth. The baked class as an appetizer was very good. They were chopped and a good size, with 4 on a plate. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would go back again.
My friend and I met here for lunch and enjoyed the view, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant.
It appeared our server forgot about us. When she did finally take our order, food came out quickly before other tables that ordered before us. She must have said something, the food was very good. Their happy hour is good and the crowd older and respectful speaking softy.
We were a group of 6 and we had a wonderful experience. The drinks and food were amazing - coconut sangria was a favorite. Appetizers ranged from oysters (excellent) to lobster wontons that were all delicious. Our entrees were all great - duck, tuna, pasta and several fish dishes were exceptional. Even sharing desert was very good - really enjoyed the carrot cake! We will definitely be back!!
We went for my husband's birthday. Had the skillet mussels for an appetizer and Monday lobster special for dinner, both were delicious. Chocolates chip bread pudding and NY cheesecake for dessert. Everything was really good and we would definitely come back again

Came in for lunch with five women...had beautiful round table near window. Food choices were good and we will come again.
I went for lunch and ordered a steak panini which was a roast beef sandwich on white toasted bread.. $20. My boyfriend had the lobster roll which tasted more like a chicken salad which probably had very little lobster in it with all the other stuff they added into it. The pina coladas were not good. The waitress wasn't that great, the sandwiches prob took half hour or more to come out. The lunch menu overall just wasn't great options wise. Will not be going back.
It was my mother's birthday and we came at her request. Unfortunately, all of Main Street was closed for Pride parade. She got lost! We had a wonderful waitress. Jay says her name was Piper. She was so attentive and kind while we got appetizers and drinks and waited for my lost mother!! We were lucky to have a beautiful day. Thank you for a lovely experience
Been here many times. Always good. A little disappointed with the calamari. Very overcooked. Other than that all was very good.
Food was very good Service good A little bit loud due to bar being crowded And was seated to close
