My friend and I met here for lunch and enjoyed the view, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend this restaurant.
It appeared our server forgot about us. When she did finally take our order, food came out quickly before other tables that ordered before us. She must have said something, the food was very good. Their happy hour is good and the crowd older and respectful speaking softy.
We were a group of 6 and we had a wonderful experience. The drinks and food were amazing - coconut sangria was a favorite. Appetizers ranged from oysters (excellent) to lobster wontons that were all delicious. Our entrees were all great - duck, tuna, pasta and several fish dishes were exceptional. Even sharing desert was very good - really enjoyed the carrot cake! We will definitely be back!!
We went for my husband's birthday. Had the skillet mussels for an appetizer and Monday lobster special for dinner, both were delicious. Chocolates chip bread pudding and NY cheesecake for dessert. Everything was really good and we would definitely come back again
Came in for lunch with five women...had beautiful round table near window. Food choices were good and we will come again.
I went for lunch and ordered a steak panini which was a roast beef sandwich on white toasted bread.. $20. My boyfriend had the lobster roll which tasted more like a chicken salad which probably had very little lobster in it with all the other stuff they added into it. The pina coladas were not good. The waitress wasn't that great, the sandwiches prob took half hour or more to come out. The lunch menu overall just wasn't great options wise. Will not be going back.
It was my mother's birthday and we came at her request. Unfortunately, all of Main Street was closed for Pride parade. She got lost! We had a wonderful waitress. Jay says her name was Piper. She was so attentive and kind while we got appetizers and drinks and waited for my lost mother!! We were lucky to have a beautiful day. Thank you for a lovely experience
Been here many times. Always good. A little disappointed with the calamari. Very overcooked. Other than that all was very good.
Food was very good Service good A little bit loud due to bar being crowded And was seated to close
Always a great time at The Oar! Great 2 piece band tonight, music was excellent. The apps including skillet mussels and oysters rockefeller were perfect. Entrees included the prime NY strip, tender filet, swordfish cooked perfectly. The dessert including chocolate chip bread pudding, tartufo and apple crisp were all very good. Our waitress Blossom is outstanding and Mike at the bar is the perfect mixologist.

Best tuna on the island, and that statement covers many dinners at the Oar House. Always great food no matter what, I'm in the mood for.
Had a very nice time at the oar, went for a few drinks before our dinner reservation bartenders are very good ,and the food is amazing always a good time when we go there
Saturday night at the Oar. It's rocking with music in the bar and lots of full tables. Perfect oysters on the half shell. Yummy fish and chips. Delicious roast duck. A glass of wine that is a full glass, not one of those half glass pours. Excellent service.
Stating with the very good warm rolls and dipping oil. Then the lobster sliders and baked calms, both were very good. The seafood bisque was ok. The sliced tuna on salad was disappointing. While the salad and Asian dressing was fine, the tuna was not edible. My Caesar with chicken was also off. The romaine was crisp and chilled, but the chicken was dry, and the dressing had no “Caesar” just as bland as plain oil. Our server was fine, but she never asked how we enjoyed our meal, even though she saw all of the tuna that was left on the plate uneaten. I didn't complain, maybe I should have. But, I've enjoyed the oar many times so I'll count this as a “one off.” Still, a worthwhile place, especially in the warmer months when you can sit outside.
Our first time there. Waited for reservations to come back! Waitress was awesome. Friendly welcome! A little confusing to find the entrance into the restaurant. You come into the catering hall. We will be back!!
