I forgot NO RICE AVAILABLE, OF ANY KIND. This location has the worst AM/PM changeover. This location will mess up an UberEats order as well.

I’m beyond happy we have an actual Jamaican restaurant here in Peekskill! Lord knows this restaurant was very necessary for this area as a Jamaican! I don’t know why people even leave bad reviews or complain about the serving size and I can’t even finish a small plate of food! The food is amazing, the restaurant is very clean, and their bathroom is super clean for a public bathroom! I ordered a catered meal for a birthday party. Everything was cooked to perfection was absolutely delicious. We even had lots of leftovers for everyone to take home. This is my first time catering from Golden Krust since I always ordered take out which was always deliciously prepared. The restaurant is exceptionally clean and highly recommended. Hail to the chef and Ms. James!

I ordered curry chicken. The chicken smelled sour, it was undercooked ( red and raw inside) then it was extremely salty, and there were whole chicken legs in the order. I had never seen curry chicken served like this before. Unfortunately, the food wasn't edible. I threw up. I had to drive back to the restaurant to return the food. I requested a refund. I have patronized the Golden Krust in White Plains and Mt Vernon. Their food is exceptional. This Peekskill location every time I brought food it wasn't good. I'm done ✔️.

Couldn't believe there was a GK all the way up here in Peekskill. I've been to a few down in the city, but towards the last few years, they all started to become very lackluster. This location was a throwback to yesteryear when they had good food and good service. The young lady behind the counter was most definitely overworked though. She was handling taking the orders, getting the boxes ready and handling the register. I know for a fact that there were 2 orders ladies, that seemed to have disappeared when customers started walking in. Over all the food was tasty, though the chicken breast pieces (which were quite small) were dry, the sauce they gave you on the side made up for it though. Had a spicy beef patty to go with it and while tasty...it wasn't flaky or necessarily fresh out of the oven (slightly over warm, not oven hot) and it most definitely was NOT spicy. The store itself was extremely bright and clean including the bathroom.I'd definitely come back again, but if they could make some improvements to the beef patty, that'd be great!

I always thought the only thing missing from this beautiful town was a Jamaican restaurant. I was elated when I saw the Golden Krust "coming soon" sign displayed on the storefront banner. I frequent this restaurant sometimes twice a week since opening and was never disappointed until today. I was greeted and placed my order. I specifically asked for chicken breast because that is the only part of the chicken that I eat. I sensed that the young lady who took my order quickly became annoyed when I noticed that my meal consisted mostly of red meat. I kindly reminded her that I only want chicken breast, and she continued to place, the thigh, wing, leg, etc in the container with a rude attitude, basically telling me that my request could not be honored, to put mildly..This was never an issue prior to her working here (I deduced she is a relatively new hire). If it weren't for YANNIQUE B., I would never patronize or refer anyone to this establishment again. Yannique de-escalated the situation, was EXTREMELY professional and helpful and was able provide me with the service I expected as a paying customer. That other young lady, no name tag, is EXTREMELY off putting and I refuse to be serviced by her ever again. Yannique is so pleasant and provides AMAZING customer service. Can't say the same for the other server, she makes me want to never return. If I never had to deal with her, it would've been 5 ?. 1 star if Yannique B. didn't take over.

There isn't much else that tickles my palate than a nicely prepared, presented and bountiful Oxtail Platter. I ordered the large portion with Rice&Beans. There was Cabbage Slaw and beautiful plantains in the order. My wife had the Brown Stewed Chicken. On tasting both dishes our eyes 'rolled back' and savored the tastiness. The choices for this cuisine are kinda thin and sometimes hit & miss with portions. Though this is a 'chain', I am of the mindset that the food is prepared fresh daily. I asked about Cowfoot and they do have that in a rotation (not every day) and will be there when it over rice is available.
