The fried tilapia was perfectly cooked, and it came with a beet cabbage salad that had the perfect citrusy crunch. Emiliano gave us additional Guatemalan delicacies to try such as chicken relleno. Also get the tres leche. It’s amazing! Too bad I’m in NYC or else I’d come here weekly. I will definitely be back though!”

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp at the corner door for wheelchairs and strollers. One of the 2 bathrooms is accessible, and if you order food, which is normally picked up from the counter that is 2 steps up, they will bring it to your table instead, since it is not accessible.”

“If you’re feeling adventurous with your taste palette, and open to having your ice cream served differently, then definitely come here and you won’t be disappointed. I had the mango spice (can’t remember the name) and it was delicious. Bough a homemade coconut ice popsicle for the wife and she loved. Daughter had the Oreo icy and loved it too. My little one tried to stay traditional with a chocolate ice cream cone but even that tasted like authentic Mexican hot chocolate!”

The first time I walked in and the second time I called it in. I was very please with the phone order because the young man on the phone told me how much my order was if I was paying in cash or card (up charge for card). “always always happy with their BEC sandwiches. they only have a *tiny* amount of room for dining in, so it’s mostly/mainly a take-out/pick-up spot. food is always delicious though. if you commute or have a train trip or whatever then it makes way more sense to get food from here vs. the other nearby options (there’s a whole entire restaurant/bar at the actual old Peekskill station, but its a lil ‘foo-foo’. THIS spot which is right across the street has much better/more food options).their menu prices are very reasonable, and the food quality makes it totally worth it.”

“Succulent oxtails - unfortunately couldn't taste any habanero and they were super mild but the overall flavor & texture made up for the lack of spiciness. Rice & peas + the stewed cabbage were also cooked well and tasty. Large portion will easily feed two people for a reasonable price. The older gentleman was lovely and provided great customer service. Really want to try the jerk pork next time!”

“This place is really great for an impossibly cheap and delicious meal. It’s half market, half eatery. My wife is from Peru and got to experience Ecuadorian food for the first time here and she loved it. I’ve been to Ecuador before and I can say that this is pretty delicious and authentic food. “Just had another GREAT meal at the Westchester Diner in Peekskill NY 10566 today (Tuesday 7/02/2024). My wife had a bowl of Lentil soup (Huge & Tasty) and the Balsamic Chicken salad (Also Huge and very tasty). I ordered the Killarney lunch special (Pastrami & swiss cheese with ale house mustard on fresh rye bread, that came with french-fries, cole-slaw, pickles, and a very nice cup of melted Irish cheese. Both meals were terrific. Our Waiter was very nice and professional and went out of his way to make sure we got everything we needed. I was greeted by MILTON and felt very welcomed, as we walked in and were seated in a nice booth. The Diner was very clean, the decor was very well done, and the many TV's mounted on the walls is a very nice touch. On our way out, MILTON stopped us, asked how everything was, and thanked us for stopping in. I highly recommend taking the family out to eat at the family friendly, clean, and affordable WESTCHESTER DINER in Peekskill NY. The new Owners, the make-over of the Diner, the Staff, the service, the ambiance, and especially the FOOD are all worth it. You won't be disappointed!! My wife and I are very happy to leave this message, and we were not asked to do so. We do it from the heart and call it like we see/experience it. ENJOY!!!!!!”

“I really don't understand the number of 1-star reviews for this place. My go-to order is the large curried goat, and it is so good. I have ordered it maybe a half dozen times for lunch over the past year or so, and have never been disappointed. The staff here has always been pleasant.

I will say that the portion size is sometimes inconsistent, depending on how big a scoop the person serving happens to give you, and how many bones you happen to get. This is why I order the large. It's also going to be a little more expensive than typical fast food, but not THAT much more, and honestly worth it.”
