The bread they make is more expensive than any other bread you can buy around the area, but is at another level in terms of quality and health benefits. Your gut will tell you. If you haven't tried it before, it is worth giving it a shot!

The best sourdough bread in the Hudson Valley. Small hand crafted bakery that is women owned. Locally sourced, organic ingredients, naturally leavened and made with love. Hearth loaves, Pullman loaves, baguettes (the favorite), cookies, muffins, crumb cake, foccacia, bialys (the best) scones, biscuits, cinnamon buns and the occasional pizza. In store shopping Wed-Sat or at the Cold Spring farmer's market year round. Friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Stunning bread shop. We went there after 1pm, so most of their delicious breads were sold out. But what we managed to purchase was absolutely amazing.

I just had brain surgery and I am on a very delicate combination of medications that affect my stomach. At the same time, getting some kind of highly nutritious food is really important for my recovery. My taste buds can’t handle anything too extreme but I still want to eat something delicious. Well let me tell you that I have been living off of Signal Fire Bread and it is doing wonders! When I can’t eat too much it sustains me and I also think it has really helped to rev back up my appetite. Truly whether or not you get brain surgery, I recommend Signal Fire for the tastiest, most nutritious and sustainably made local bread.

My father delivers the bio blocks they use in their ovens. He always told me how good the bread is. I didn't realize it was this good. Bread without all kinds of ingredients you can't pronounce and tastes excellent. If you are used to wonder bread this is not your place!

Wonderful local bakery with so many tasty things! Tried out their graham crackers (delicious, rich, buttery), polenta pound cake (delicious!) And levain (nice sour flavor, chewy, great texture and perfect with avocado). Will definitely come by again. Come early to get their cinnamon buns they sell out quick!
