Well, what to say about this place apart from Amazing. 1st time in America, so 1st bar in America and it was an instant hit, Nate made myself and my partner feel so welcome (as did some of the locals). The beer selection was brilliant, plenty of sports etc. Nate was a complete gentleman giving information on his drinks available, giving tasters and always having a smile. We have 6 nights in Peekskill and will be back nearly every day.

Nice place and a regular spot for me. Always good food, solid beer list and Peekskill’s best and most diverse whiskey offerings. Outdoor seating available on summer weekends with live music outside.

Everything was decent bar food. Didn't like wings, chicken sandwich and pretzel bites were good, beer chez could be heated up. Brussel sprouts were great. Cauliflower had too much breading.Friendly staff.

I just had what may be the most solid chicken sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Let’s start with the chicken itself. Most places will Try to fool you by giving you an extra large piece of chicken that is cooked unevenly. These guys give you two Cutlets of chicken that are grilled to perfection. Let’s move onto the bacon. We’ve all been to those restaurants that give you the cheapest, lowest quality piece of bacon they can find. Not Whiskey River! The bacon is thick and meaty with the perfect amount of fat to give it flavor. I’m normally not a fan of pickles on the chicken sandwich, but it really works in this case. Now finally, the bread. The Bread is a wonderfully toasted bun. Nothing pretentious with a bunch of seeds on it, just a rock, solid bun the bartender, I think his name was David, was wonderfully attentive and always made sure my beer glass was full. They are definitely deserving of five stars!

Came here for the first time a month or two ago. Food was ok, not amazing, but not bad either. Slightly, above average bar style food is the vibe that I got from this place. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries Came here again tonight (Thursday 9/5) around 7:30pm/8pm. Not busy at all. Ordered the same exact thing and it was bad. Food was cold. Took only two bites, grilled chicken sandwich tasted funny and smelled weird. It was not good at all. Don’t know if it was bad or just made a different way this time around. But it had a really weird taste and it didn’t taste the same as last time. Fries didn’t seem fresh either and they seemed like they were old, refried fries. Person I was with got a burger and fries and he hardly even enjoyed it and didn’t finish it as well. Don’t know what the deal was. We still got charged the full amount, even after expressing my dislike to the server/bartender when he asked how the food was. He was so persistent on asking me why I didn’t like the food, as if it was a crime and as if it was the best grilled chicken sandwich in the world. It’s bar food. It’s not a Michelin star restaurant lol. He only offered if I wanted something else on the menu, which I declined because uninterested in anything else at that point. Wouldn’t return again. Not sure what the hype over this place is all about.

The chicken sandwich was okay, but 3/5 sauces smelled spoiled, the dressing didn't smell fresh to me. I wasn’t the only person in my group who ordered food with sauce/dressing and most of the sauce smelled terrible. I would NEVER recommend this place. I wasn’t even asked if I'd like another dressing and couldn't even finish my birthday lunch because I wasn’t offered another selection. This place could be great for others, but it didn’t do it for me.
