Jim Phelan is the real deal, took him only an hour while i waited l to solve a perplexing problem with my soprano sax and bass clarinet and showed me how he went about it in detail. Awesome!

Excellent customer service - I cannot commend Jim Phelan (Owner/General Manager) enough. We purchased a used Laubin for our son and needed an appraisal for insurance reasons. I called the phone number for A. Laubin and Jim picked up the phone. He got all the details and provided the appraisal promptly. I really appreciate it very much.
On a related note, our son was playing an oboe from another manufacturer. He has not touched that oboe since getting the Laubin in June because its a great instrument and he plays much better with it.

Since I began my professional career 50 years ago, I would not play on anything but a Laubin. No matter which - grenadilla, rosewood or cocobolo - they are magnificent instruments. I’ve used all 3 in my orchestral life. It is the only oboe I could ever, in good conscience, recommend. I have seen a vast variety of other makers’ instruments through my teaching years as students come to audition/study and have not seen any single instrument that I would’ve preferred over any of my Laubins. Tone, response, scale, workmanship, all with amazing consistency. They are simply the best. Thank you to the Laubin family and all others who have, over the years, been part of this remarkable artistic company.

I had been told by several local repair shops that my Oboe was not worth repair. I have a 1970's Laubin. I contacted Laubin to see if they had any used instruments, and ended up sending them mine. They completely overhauled it. That was 5 yrs ago. I'm still loving my first and only oboe. THANKS for such a wonderful instrument.

Had dinner here last week and it was outstanding. Had the new salmon dish and it was fabulous. Lots of interesting vegetables were served with it. Appetizer and desserts were outstanding. The lemon cloud cheesecake was delicious.

Always Wonderful. We took the Summer off from Zeph's to take advantage of the Hudson Valley outdoor dining experience and returned to once again enjoy the total escape that Zeph's is. From the eclectic furnishings to the totally creative menu dining here, and I do mean dining, is wonderful. The Staff is very attentive and and you feel completely unhurried. I don't have a sufficient vocabulary to describe how Vicky creates the incredibly delicious treats that arrive from her kitchen. Please try the Duck! We are back and like a long lost friend are delighted to see Zeph's once more.
