The Best Culinary Thing to Happen to Pelham—Ever.
I am not exaggerating when I say The Pelican Room is the most exciting culinary addition Pelham has ever seen. Full stop.

My family moved to Pelham from Williamsburg, Brooklyn fifteen years ago—back when every corner had a hidden gem, every block had a vibe, and great food was just expected. We’ve always loved Pelham, but we definitely missed that city energy, that edge, that level of craft. For years, Bistro Rollin filled that void with its warm bistro soul—a place that actually reminded us of Pastis and Balthazar.

But The Pelican Room?
It’s on a whole other level.

From the moment you walk in, the décor is absolutely stunning—resplendent, intentional, elegant without being stuffy, and effortlessly cool. You instantly feel transported. It’s the first place in Pelham that genuinely gives off that “you are somewhere special” vibe.

And the food… my God. Every plate is perfection. Not just good—top-notch, dialed-in, chef-driven, thoughtful in every detail. The flavors have depth. The presentations are gorgeous. You can taste the confidence and creativity in every bite.

This is the first time in 15 years that I’ve said, with total sincerity:
We finally have a restaurant that rivals (and in many ways surpasses) the best of NYC.

Pelham needed this.
Pelham deserves this.
And The Pelican Room delivers beyond all expectations.

If you haven’t been yet, go—immediately.
If you have, you already know: this is not just a restaurant.
It is a gift to our town.

Welcome to Pelham, Pelican Room. We’re obsessed already.

We dined on Saturday night 11-15 and we were super excited to dine here. The restaurant is beautiful in every detail down to the restrooms. We ordered a few drinks Chicken Liver Pate, Biggie Back Dates, Roe & Revelry, Smoked Beet Tartar, Pelican Brief Burger, Poivre Royal, Earthstone Chicken and Sweet Heat. The drinks were quite good. The food is a little bit of a different story; The Pate was excellent and the dates were good. The beets and avocado need more texture as the beets are soft and avocado was not chunky but more of a puree additionally needed more lemon or acid and seasoning. The Roe and Revelry;the potatoes weren't quite hot. The burger was ordered Medium Rare and arrived medium well and the bun didn't seem fresh. The steak while cooked properly both meat and French fries weren't hot, more luke warm. The chicken wasn't a crispy skin more rubbery skin and the Pizza the crust was gummy. The service that was also not well executed was our server it was strange almost robotic like. We ordered coffee and they said they were out of it. While we truly were excited about experiencing the restaurant it fell quite short. Sadly we were disappointed and will not return.

A fantastic gem of a restaurant tucked into Pelham. The recipes are well crafted and delicious. Great cocktail (and mocktail) menu! Both brunch and dinner are well worth the trip to this fantastic new restaurant!

Just wow. 11/10. As a person who was a local as of 4 days ago, boy am I sad to leave this place. (I know, I know, the picture in this review isn’t great quality- I didn’t want to be that person putting on her flash) but holy smokes. The smoked beet tartar is out of control- but you need to use the lemon! Or maybe not.. but the lemon made it even over the top. Third time here, in love with everything I’ve eaten (maybe minus the side of Mac and cheese, needs breadcrumbs!).

Service is phenomenal. Everyone here is trained so well and that I love most is the sweetness, the kindness, I overheard the person training staff. Really wonderful environment and the music is impressive.

The drinks are superb, every bar tender I’ve encountered is so knowledgeable and talented. Immensely grateful to see such a bipoc staff. Will be coming back for a date night so soon.

Rooting for this restaurant in Pelham to succeed….
Service is poor. Long wait for drinks, wrong orders, missed orders
Suggest a professional front of house manager
Room is too dark and noisy
Food is 3 or 4 out of 5 with some interesting options

Came here for my friend’s 40th birthday. I convinced everyone to come all the way from Manhattan. Needless to say, expectations were high.

Kal and the whole team made us feel at home. We enjoyed the food, got the best table in the house, and enjoyed excellent service the whole time. Pizza, burgers, deviled eggs, and pigs in a blanket were hits.

The vibe is amazing. Make sure to get a reservation for the speakeasy. It’s an unforgettable experience. Some of the best cocktails I’ve had anywhere.

The one star is for the small portion of food received. If you don't mind paying high price for not enough to eat then this place is for you.

The crusted salmon was prepared nicely, however the 3 okras and 8 small slices of possibly one miniature potato was not enough for a hungry man. For the children's menu it would do fine.

If you're just looking for alcoholic drinks and someone to engage in conversation along with a burger you will probably be content.
But if you are looking for a sufficient dinner and a variety of choices then you might do well to look elsewhere.

If you want to see exactly how much for is on the salmon plate then look at the Google reviews for Pelican Room and the first review by Kurt W. has photo of that plate.
Judge for yourself.

The antique looking paint on the walls near the windows was not impressive. It looked like a less than amateur paint job due to the purposeful uneven application.

We came for brunch the 2nd weekend they started offering it but the restaurant opened this summer. It feels like they’re still figuring out staffing and other logistics but the atmosphere, cafe and food are great.

My friend ordered the strawberry mocha latte and I had the matcha. After trying my friend’s latte I asked for some strawberry syrup on the side to add to my match and it was a 10/10. However, they did charged me $1 for the small dish of syrup.

For food, we ordered the pelican platter, the roasted cauliflower salad, and the side of black pepper bacon. The highlight of the pelican platter were old bay tater tots and the pancake. The pancake was thick and fluffy, and it came with this delicious strawberry sauce. The roasted cauliflower salad was also great, but it had a lot of parsley and the cauliflower wasn’t very roasted. The black pepper bacon was extremely peppery, we had to scrape some off to finish the last slice.

Great vibes. Superb cocktail drinks and new Happy Hour 5p - 6p with select drinks. Was surprised to see old fashion as choice. It was excellent. The crusty salmon was cooked perfectly!. Carl the owner and local Pelham resident can by and warmly introduce himself. Make your reservation if coming after happy because it got pretty crowded while I was at the bar. As a Pelham resident happy to see the growth of restuarant business on the strip. Best of success Carl and company

New place and we tried it on a whim. Excellent choice. Delicious food, all seasoned to perfection. My GF had the Salmon which was done perfectly and served with a side of crispy skinned, SLICED fingerling potatoes. So delicious! Who does that?
