My wife and I visited Letchworth State Park today for the first time and were looking for a place to celebrate her birthday. Their ad on the map for Letchworth looked interesting so we went to the lumberyard restaurant. Folks, my wife had prime rib and I had stuffed haddock. Both meals were without compare. The salad bar was the freshest and cleanest I have seen. Prices were reasonable. The staff was beyond friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to any and everyone. Their homemade French onion soup was the best I have ever had. to see their attention to their customers Was heartwarming. All the best to you and your staff in your future endeavors

I hate to even leave this review but we were so very disappointed with Easter Dinner. The only good thing was the salad bar! The soups were thick & lacked flavor, dinner buffet was mixed reviews with the veggies, mashed potatoes & mac & cheese that were good but the ham with mustard sauce & lamb were absolutely disgusting. I was shocked to see, with being known for prime rib & seafood, that there was neither option for those that dont care for lamb. Now lets talk about the cost, this meal was absolutely not worth $50 per person & a total waste of money especially when you do not include dessert but charge an extra $10 per person to add it in!! So we basically paid $50/pp for a salad, mashed potatoes & mac & cheese.. we will never return for this overpriced & disgusting meal!

The food was average and the atmosphere is a little bit like the late 1970s or early 1980s. The waitress was so friendly and helpful.

50$ for the worst takeout I've had in so long, and people talk about Daryl's badly. You should appreciate Daryl's isn't putting food out like this💯

The Lumber Yard is tucked away and a bit hard to find, but very cute with a rustic charm. We arrived at 5:30, there is plenty of seating and it wasn’t busy, but by 6:30, it was packed. You need reservations. We each had a dirty martini that tasted like gasoline and wasn’t dirty at all. One of the worst martinis I’ve ever had. They have a small salad bar that included 3 soups and it came with our meal. I had a broiled seafood platter that also had clams casino and 2 stuffed mushrooms and I had a twice baked potato. They were out of clams casino and replaced them with some steamed clams (not what wanted) and soaked the mushrooms in a golden hollandaise sauce that I didn’t care for. The shrimp and scallops were perfect. The twice baked potato was baked about 50 times, really dry and hard. My BF had prime rib and seafood. The seafood pieces were julienned, all together. Not really appealing or tasty. His prime rib was just ok and his potato was even harder than mine. Our server was beyond nice. Just a lovely girl, taking care of many people. She got them an extra star. Doubt I’d go back though.

Service and the salad bar was great. Only part lacking was the frozen chicken patties used for the chicken parm.

We took our 2 year old and 10 year old for dinner on Saturday night with our best friends and their infant and I can not even say enough about how much of incredible experience it was from start to finish. It was our first time. Taking a two year old out to eat can sometimes be a challenge but wow. They made us feel like they knew us our whole lives. They accomated our kids like they were their own. The food was incredible! Every single thing ordered was cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. But what took this over the top was the way we were treated. It’s extremely hard to find a place that exceeds expectations nowadays and they did just that and more. We will be back every chance we get!

Long drive to a very cold restaurant in Winter. WaIted over an hour for dinner while wearing a coat in an extremely cold unheated room. Stay in the main restaurant, the added room, upstaIrs is freezing. Food was good, wait staff friendly, Not overly impressed. Note to management: Find a way to heat that room, portable fireplaces anyone? If you have a reservation for a large group, put additional wait staff on the schedule.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The service was absolutely horrendous- the servers didn't even take our orders until we had been sitting there for almost 2 hours. We got no update about the status of our meals, and no apologies. We spoke to the owner about the lack of urgency and communication and she was incredibly rude to us. Not how you talk to customers at all, no idea how this woman runs a business. After waiting over 2 hours for our meals, the food that came was criminally overpriced and tasted bad. My chicken was drenched in oil. On top of that, nothing was taken off of our meal as compensation. Don't waste your time coming here.

My family and I came to this restaurant for the rehearsal dinner before mine and my husband's wedding. While the booking process was easygoing, which we appreciated, it turned out to be a very disappointing experience. The room we were placed in was cramped and cold. Although the reservation was for 6:30 we did not receive our food until 9pm. They did have a salad and soup bar, but we weren't told if it was available to us until an hour and half in. There was butter on the table, which suggested there was meant to be bread served, but we never received any. Many of us were unsatisfied by the food's quality, which heightened our disappointment. Our waitress was doing her best to keep drinks coming, and although it was not her fault that she was overwhelmed, we were not communicated with about why there were such long waiting periods.
My stepmother asked to speak to the owner, and found her to be unwilling to acknowledge that anything was wrong with how this dinner had gone. We would not have requested for something on our bill to be comped if it hadn't been such a disappointing experience.
What we wanted most of all was acknowledgement of our frustrations, especially since this was meant to be a celebratory night. My recommendation to the restaurant is to not book 2 large events (there was a very large group doing trivia and ordering plated meals in the room next to us) if you do not have the staff to properly service both. Also, if they had offered family style rather than plated meals, it would have probably taken pressure off of the kitchen as well.

The only truly positive thing I can say is that our waitress, I think her name was Katie (?) was kind, made our drinks well, and acknowledged our disappointment after the second person in our party complained. Also the Christmas decorations were nice.

Waited 2 and a half hours for or dinner. We had a large party but reservations were made ahead of time. They were not prepared for us at all. I suggested they take a percentage off the bill for the terrible service and the owner thought it would be a better idea to argue with me instead. Huge chip on her shoulder. That place won’t make it with her in charge. Too bad

If I could give Lumber Yard zero stars, I would. This was hands down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food took 2.5 hours to arrive with absolutely no communication from the staff. Not a single update, apology, or attempt to make things right. Just a long, miserable wait.

When the food finally came, it was trash—completely uninspired, bland, and not even remotely worth the outrageous price. They market themselves as fine dining, but in reality, it’s a glorified Ponderosa or Cracker Barrel with a fancy name and inflated prices.

To top it off, when we brought our concerns to the owner, they were rude, dismissive, and full of excuses. Rather than taking any accountability, they chose to argue with us, as if the disaster was somehow our fault.

Save your time, money, and appetite—don’t bother with this place. For the price they’re charging, you can go to an actual fine dining establishment and get food that’s edible, service that’s competent, and management that actually cares. Absolutely unacceptable. Not to mention, fresh bread with the butter on the table and salad, water, appetizers, proper sauce served to you.

Was in Perry for the afternoon and the place we wanted to go to wasn’t open so based on the reviews we stopped here. Yikes. We should have turned around when we pulled into the parking lot and saw one car.

The restaurant was dark, outdated and quiet (no music playing). The prices were high so we had some high expectations, but we were there for lunch so ordered French onion soup, an order of chicken tenders and a cheeseburger. The French onion soup was extremely salty, the onions weren’t cooked and we didn’t finish it. Our entrees came out and the burger was cold and not cooked all the way. The chicken tenders were hard and rubbery. When asked for sauce the waitress said there was salad dressing at the salad bar. There was ranch and blue cheese, no honey mustard, no bbq sauce. We took one bite of the food and asked for our check. The server Megan (spelling?) was sweet and asked if we wanted a box to which we said no and she asked if anything was wrong with the food and I shared with her. It wasn’t her fault but it was just awful. She only charged us for the soup and drinks, I left her a $20 tip because I felt bad but if I were her I’d work elsewhere.

If you’re thinking of stopping here, just don’t. There’s a McDonalds not far away and you’ll be better off. Avoid this place at all costs.
