We had the porterhouse for 2 with a baked potato for each. The porterhouse steak was a disappointment because they marinated and seasoned it with lemon and EVOO and supposedly garlic and hot pepper flakes. A Big No No for a porterhouse. It ruined the flavor of a nice grilled sizzling steak. A good steak needs nothing but it's own juices and maybe some salt and pepper. The steak had an acidity flavor and you can hardly taste the meat of it. If you're are a big steak eater you will understand what I'm saying. Also the baked potato was so small hardly a side dish at all. I know we weren't going to Peter Luger's, Morton's or Ruth's Chris Steakhouse but this restaurant was charging the same prices of these famous and well worth the price steakhouses. Had they not flavored the steak especially with lemon of all things and gave us a real size baked potato we might have enjoyed our meal instead of being disappointed at a very costly price. Also the fireplace was not working which took away from any ambience and warmth especially since it was a cold autumn night. However, on a positive note, the coconut shrimp was meaty and delicious and cooked perfectly! The staff was amazing, pleasant, friendly and efficient. If and when we go back again we will be sure to ask for the porterhouse BUT without all the seasons and marinades and a bigger baked potato!!!

My boyfriend and I celebrated our Anniversary and this Steakhouse was the perfect place! We decided to go all out and get a variety of apps and share some dinners. The food was delicious and the service was incredible! Lynn was our server and she was fantastic! The oysters were the freshest ones we ever had! The steak was cooked perfect. We didn't expect much coming in but we both definitely enjoyed our experience and will be back!

I really wanted to be excited about the food but was deeply disappointed. My husband and I went for our anniversary weekend. I'll rank the food below:

Drinks: 8/10. We got apple mules and they were great.

0. The Calamari was very underseasoned and tasted powdery. Like it was frozen and then fried. It also wasn't crispy. For $22, it wasn't worth it.

Ny strip: 3/10. We ordered medium steaks and they came out on skillets kind of like fajitas. Because of that, the steak continued to cook throughout the meal. By the time I got to the center, it was almost well done. The vegetables that came with it were underseasoned and undercooked. $56 each and not worth it.

Apple crumb: 8/10. Big portion. Tasty. Just a little softer than we'd like.

The menu online was also different that the one in-store. I was really looking forward to the seafood mac and cheese but there was none. The saving grace of this place was the waitress and overall customer service.

Traditional Steakhouse in Phoenicia, in the Catskills. Great food. We have dined here before and have never had a bad meal. Service is personal and attentive. Recommend.

A nice variety of seafood steaks and other dishes that made for a great way to have a lot of choices which I like it lets me get away from all the standards they end up doing at home all the time plus everything was delicious. Thanks for a great birthday dinner.

Visitors took our birthday boy here for his first time and ours: great food (pork chop) and server and background music (Steely Dan!). Actual New York cheesecake in New York: sublime!

I need to start just trusting myself for steak. To some this expensive steak would have been amazing but just want great to me. The French onion soup was great. Desserts were yummy and presentation was nice. We sat outside on the patio and that was wonderful!

Our party of 5 had reservations and were seated upon arrival. The service was great and food was tasty. The problem was one of the dinners came out with a meal that was not ordered. Mistakes happened and they did correct by making the one ordered. Problem was it came out after everyone else was finished with their meal. My sister asked to have the meal packed to go since all was done and she was quite disappointed at this point. The waitress let the kitchen and management know. This was over a $ 400 tab and the restaurant comped 2 perseccos and one dessert.

Wow, what a great place The Phoenician Steakhouse is for a special meal! We went for a family birthday and were so glad we did. We had a range of appetizers and main courses, including salad, calamari, veggie pasta, salmon, steak, and lobster. Everything was fabulous, beautifully presented and served. We had cake at home so didn't sample desserts. But they looked great, and we're already discussing when we might get back to try them. Hopefully for our next special occasion. We had a terrific experience. Highly recommended.
