“Very welcoming diner! The owners run a tight ship, everything seems so organized for a diner. The kitchen is open so you can see through if you sit at the counter and its weirdly quiet and smooth sailing despite the many orders passing through.Overall, the food was good! Some lacked a wow factor in flavor but still good and the serving size is huge! Fresh ingredients, great coffee, the best orange juice! It can get a little pricey but definitely worth it!”
“WOW! I feel like this pizza spot was transplanted from Brooklyn! Everything we ordered was stellar. The grandma pizza is one of the best I had, exploding with flavor Garlic knots are soft and chewy in the middle. Onteora hot hero with grilled chicken, mozzarella, pesto, pepper with perfectly toasted bread. Loaded waffle fries crispy. I'm shocked this amazing eatery is located in such a remote area. HIGHLY recommend!”
“Dropped in for a quick dinner while we’re in town for the weekend and we loved it! Plenty of seating, quick and courteous service, delicious food, and fair pricing. We tried two of their specials and a large tomato garlic basil pizza (added red sauce). Definitely recommend going if in the area!”
“We has a large thin crust pizza , and a pecan salad ! Absolutely outrageous, the pizza was better then we have ever had ! Peacan salad was fantastic, oh and not to mention the service is impeccable.”
“Visited while on weekend getaway with wife. Atmosphere was great, service was also very good and friendly. I ordered the tomahawk steak cooked rare, it care with broccoli rabe and potatoes. It was one of best steaks I have ever eaten! Drinks were also great and waitress was super friendly. We had a great time and will be back when in area again!”
“Came here for my birthday dinner on monday night with two friends. Having a culinary background. I always enjoy trying places with fresh, unique, seasonal menus. Not only was this restaurant all of the above but they actually changed their menu daily. The flavor profile of each dish was perfectly balanced and unique. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The service was also top notch. Our server, the hostess and everyone who passed our table was extremely accommodating. This was an amazing experience and I'm so happy I got to do it for my birthday. I highly, highly recommend going here.”
“Six stars for food and service. Excellent gluhwein mulled wine is homemade. I have a potatoe soup and a German burger. It's absolutely amazing food quality and price combination.”
“Absolutely love coming here. Truly one of our favorite breweries ever - mountain views, friendly staff and patrons, music playing, fire pit, dogs, great beer - you really can't beat it. We almost didn't come here at first because it was out of the way from where we were, but so glad we did - it's 100% worth it to make the trip! The food trucks there are always fantastic too - just check their IG or website to see what time they leave (we missed them one time when we came later in the day, our fault). Added bonus is the brewery's merch is great - we typically don't buy brewery merch but their designs are awesome (and good quality too - have been wearing my orange and black West Kill beanie for years!).”
“Cutest little coffee shop with all day breakfast and amazing lunch options.I literally dream about the chicken sandwich and french fries. My partner and I make a few trips up to the Catskills every year and we cannot pass without stopping. Highly recommend!”
“One of the greatest places I've ever been. The people are very inviting warm. The beer is ice cold, and the price so inexpensive. The items behind the bar remind me of my younger days”
“On a Saturday MaMa’s was the only restaurant that would take our order. There was a bit of a wait, but we were so grateful that they actually answered the phone and didn’t hang up on us like a few places in Tannersville. It is cash only and they offer coke products in bottles. We ordered wings and a white pizza with broccoli. The ricotta was a little weird in texture(not sure how else to describe it but all 5 of us noticed it). overall it was a good pizza and we were starving by the time we picked it up. if you’re having trouble getting service elsewhere on a busy night call MaMa’s and they will take care of you.”
“This is a true gem in the Hudson Valley. Not to be missed! Everything is decisions, and fresh and clearly prepared with food and love. The staff are delightful and thoughtful. The clientele are all people you’d want to hang out with!”
“Beautiful inside. Heard history of the building and met the owner and cook very nice man. Excellent service. Great food! Wish we lived closer. Would definitely be our regular hangout if we didn't live 3.5 hours away. We will be back whenever we can be.”
“Must do stop when in Hunter. Hours are limited off peak season. But makes your day between 8am to 3p for your coffee and snack break. The daily made brioche makes you a fan, especially with their local butter and jelly. I am a huge fan of their coffee which is just hot enough where you get the hit of coffee smell to validate its freshness. The bathroom is clean, the staff is friendly and attentive. And local merchandise makes nice house warming gifts.”
“This Amazing off the beaten path gem ,With Delicious homemade Food and Desserts , History, Lovely staff , and Fun game room , Epic Historic bowling Alley was the Perfect find to complete our Adventuring ,No run of the mill boring burgers and fries here!!!Just Absolutely Charming in every single way ?”
“Remains one of our favorites. Generous portions and great quality food at prices that don't insult you. You cannot beat the magical scenic location. Love this place!!!”
“I've seen their stalks at a few farmers markets in the city so I was really excited to stop by their actual location. The exterior and interior were so aesthetic - rusty modern is how I'd describe it. I got a few things to try here and everything was delicious. I particularly liked my cardamom bun - I'll look forward to stopping by again next time!”
“Food was good. Lighting was too bright in main dining area. Annoying ski families with iPads on full volume while playing games at their tables. Couldn't even hear the overhead music. Wasn't worth the half hour drive from Maple Crest to dine here. Will stick to Scribners next time.”
“The most filling food on the mountain top. If you need something to get you going after a hard day of skiing, Scottie's is the place to go without question.”
“We were greeted by Frances, who brought us to a nice quiet table with a view of the sparkly lights on the trees outside. She was also our server, and I believe was the only hostess and server working the entire restaurant. There were about five tables and we never felt rushed or forgotten. We ordered the special of the night, a citrus flank steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and the chili bread bowl. The chili was lukewarm warm but the right combo of spice and meat. Very yummy! While we waited for our food we enjoyed the paintings depicting the story of Rip Van Winkle. The food was good, the price was right (roughly $20 entrees) and Frances really was the icing on the cake for us!”
“Great roast pork egg foo young and whenever I need a quick pick me up, I get the fried shrimp appetizer .... and since they're open till 11 pm ....when the whole town closes up at 8 pm. They're the only restaurant open for 25 miles.Btw: their prices are great. It's a taste of old world, Cantonese, NYC takeout food which doesn't even exist in NYC anymore.”
“Our party was 4 adults and 2 chilren and we were there on a Saturday in ski season. Food and ambiance were excellent Minus 1 star for the service...alittle slow needs a waitress not only a bartender.”
“Recently changed management/owners. I was always a regular through its previous ownership and while it definitely never disappointed me before- I think the new chef and management are upping the ante a bit. I'm not sure what's happening for the recent bad reviews- to me its improved. I did change up what I order now as the "old favorites" do taste a bit different now, but now I have new favorites that I like even more. I find them always friendly and smiling and they're putting a bit more work into the atmosphere of the place. While I do occasionally miss the previous owner / management, just b/c she had become so familiar to me, I have to say that I'm also very happy with the new vibe and slightly different flavors.”
“I'm from south Brooklyn NY, born and raised. The capital of Pizza and I say this place has the real-deal Brooklyn-style pizza. SOUTH Brooklyn, not the wannabe people "from Brooklyn" that live in dumbo or williamsburg whom are from the midwest. This is definitely Mafiosi-approved , real-deal, thin crust and everything proportioned CORRECTLY! best pizza anywhere north of Bensonhurst. For the people that don't like this pizza, you don't know what good pizza is. Pizza isn't supposed to be overly seasoned. Go back to san francisco or the midwest and get a frozen pizza, dummies . This place ROCKS !”
“Everything was fine just pancakes are with a corn type base with really not much option for children. The food portion is small for the large bill you get. Ultimately your paying for the atmosphere and mountain vibe.”
“My favorite Chinese place in the area. I house sit up there a few times a year and every time I make sure I go there. Food is good quality, the owners and staff are very nice and accommodating. The service is fast, always done before the time even given no matter the size of the order.”
“Every beer is 10/10 and if you're an ipa fan you can't miss this spot. The food is also very good. Staff are attentive and knowledgeable. Industrial chic ambiance. Great location.”
