Came here for our wedding anniversary and it was truly a special evening, the space, service and food were all amazing. The house is gorgeous, it looks very colonial with lovely moody candlelight and a beautiful bar. Our server was charming and the food was top notch. Start with the pickles, ham and chips! These were so fun and tasty. Also the cup of broth poured tableside was delicious. On the larger side, we shared the peach and tomato salad, tuna tartare, the artichoke and steak. The kitchen makes great use of seasonal produce and the presentations were beautiful. For dessert the coconut cake is a must, so light and airy we were tempted to get two!

DON’T MISS THIS SPOT!! This place is absolutely incredible. Not a single dish that wasn’t something to remember. So fresh, so thoughtful, beyond delicious and not at all pretentious. Rachel is such a gem - a delight to chat with about the menu and the surrounding area. We felt taken care of as if we were in her own living room yet at a fine dining establishment simultaneously. Taylor had great knowledge about the amaro selection and we tried two delightful ones we hadn’t had before and learned about amaro making!

My fiancé and I visited Upstate New York from Northern Virginia for our anniversary trip, and stopping at Stissing House was an absolute must for me, I had been dying to experience it for myself! We reserved a table for our anniversary dinner, and it did *not* disappoint!

I’m a huge fan of rustic charm and cozy ambiance, and Stissing House delivered on every front. The timeless beauty of the space, combined with its warmth and inviting atmosphere, is truly something special.

But it wasn’t just the setting that impressed us, the food was just as exceptional!! My fiancé went as far as to say that the burger he ordered might be the best he’s ever had in his life. I had the chicken and potatoes, and it was truly remarkable, I'm still thinking about it ;)

To top it all off, the staff was incredibly warm and welcoming, especially our wonderful waitress, she was extremely attentive and thoughtful! When my fiancé asked a question about the oysters but decided not to order them, she surprised us by bringing a few to the table as a gift. After learning it was our anniversary, she brought out a complimentary slice of coconut cake with a candle, which was such a sweet gesture. And when I commented on how cute the postcards were that came with the check, she even brought us a few extras to take home.

It was truly the most attentive and thoughtful service we’ve ever experienced. She went above and beyond to make our night extra special, and it’s a dinner we’ll never forget!

Came here for my boyfriend’s birthday, and we’re already looking forward to the next time we come back! This place has a great vibe with the decor and candles at each table making you feel like you’ve gone back in time. Everything we ate was incredibly delicious. Service was great and our server, Simon, was amazing and had some great recommendations. I definitely recommend walking around checking out the other rooms in this beautiful place as well!

A great place with some amazing food. The cozy ambience of the place is warm and welcoming. The heritage building has it's own special charm that adds to the overall experience. Coming to the food, it is modern traditional fare, with flavours that work so well that it leaves you craving for more. We had oysters with bone marrow glaze and Coal roasted scallops with green butter. Both of these were amazing apps that was a perfect way to start the meal. It rightly whets your appetite. Then between my friend and I we shared the mains. A sweet fresh Rainbow trout with a crispy skin over a bed of fava bean and collards. The fish was flaky and delicious. Next was the hanger steak with horseradish potato mash and charred brocolini. It was that warm hearty food which is a hit with all. That mash packed a punch courtesy the horseradish! To finish off the fabulous meal was a sinfully rich dessert of almond pudding with vanilla ice cream with prunes. The pudding was decadent and rich and very tasty. A special shout-out to the amazing staff of the Stissing House. They were equally warm and welcoming as the place. They were attentive and friendly. We were running late and they went out of their way to accommodate us and make sure that our table was kept for us. This was truly a memorable meal and one of my favourite since moving to the US. Loved it !!!

When the scallops came out I burst out laughing!! Two scallops, $25. Excuse me, is this is high-end Manhattan seafood restaurant like Penny or Smithereens, with the freshest fish and best chefs? Nope.
Too much texture, bland, in a capacious pool of watery buttered sauce. Bread quite good though. IPA was very good. Bartender was quite nice. Overall, service is decent, if a bit undertrained for a spot billed as top shelf. Feels like a glorified chain restaurant with dark lighting and old wood tables l. With that said, for the area it is as good as you’ll find. Compared to great restaurants, na’, bush league.
