Meals are always artfully prepared and delicious. The chefs take their time making sure that each morsel and plate is expertly prepared. The open preparation concept is so interesting to watch. Family seating is not ideal, however the food, service, and taste of luxury well make up for this. Absolutely worth the price for a special night out.
I’ve been hearing a lot of wonderful things about this restaurant, but nothing compares to dining there yourself. From the moment you step inside to the moment you walk out of the door to leave you are embraced in a experience unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before. The menu encompasses elements of some of my favorite foods and they were expertly cooked with a grace and finesse you think you can only get in a big city, but it’s right here in my home town. Each coarse was timed perfectly and at no point did you feel rushed or like you waited to long. The wine pairing with the meal was amazing, they really did compliment each nuance of the dishes. Each member of the small team treated you like you belonged there and are so welcomed to be sharing in this experience. It was truly an incredible evening made even better by the company I shared my meal with. I highly recommend you share an experience of a lifetime here soon.
Very good food and wait staff. We came for my birthday and they printed menu's for it. Fantastic homestyle while yet also classy dining. I would highly recommend this location to indulge in some deliriously crafted food. (Mind I'm writing this review after just getting back from a week of eating in Sicily and it is in fact comparable in it's own way)
Excellent, with no qualifiers.
The whole experience is great. The presentation is creative and the food is fantastic. We had the tasting menu and every course exceeded our expectations. Top notch service and we can’t wait to go back.
it is not worth the hype.. food tasted mediocre. tasting menu was suggested as the more filling option do not believe it after 6 course and $$$$ less in your pocket, you will still be quite hungry. oh and 5 glasses of wine means 5 sips of wine (esp for white ones)
Every course had incredible presentation and outstanding taste.
Yet again we were blown away by the out of this world tasting menu. Every dish was both beautiful, flavorful and left us completely satisfied and craving the next dish. As always the chef and staff were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and happy to answer all of our never ending questions about our meal. We have had the pleasure of dining at the kitchen numerous times and are continuously astonished by the quality of every single bite and the overall experience. We can’t wait for our next visit!
This is the best example of fine dining that I have experienced in Rochester, NY. The flavor and texture combinations that the chef created for us was really unique and unlike anything that I had ever tried before. The service was timely, attentive, and comfortable. I would highly recommend The Kitchen to anyone looking for a special place to come and have an experience with a significant other or a small group of friends or family.
Delicious food. Service is impeccable. Prices are expensive compared to an average restaurant but was reasonable when considering the high quality of the restaurant (it's cheaper than tournedos, a tasting menu in NYC would cost 3x as much)

Went to a party there tonight the was food was delicious it was set up so beautiful on a buffet counter. We had beautiful litter copper bowls to eat out of. The chef Joe is very talented. The about 40 seat restaurant was very clean and the bathroom was immaculate. It was a very pleasant experience
The Kitchen is wonderful. Watching chef plate each dish was amazing to watch.
They scoffed at the notion of being accommodating to vegan diets, which in this day and age seems not only old-fashioned but also seems like a bad choice for their business.
High level of craft, taste, and presentation. This fine dining restaurant is surely well above anything in the Rochester area and can compete with the best of big cities. We had chosen items from the a la carte menu and were fully satisfied all throughout. The service was also excellent, with close attention to any needs you may have. Watching the chef precisely construct dishes in the open kitchen adds another level of sophistication to the classy atmosphere.
Didn't have the best experience, but the chef is very passionate about his food and many other people have enjoyed it so I've revised my one star to a three star.
