We went there to get dinners to go. The man behind the counter was not friendly and treated us rudely. When we told him what we wanted he said “No”. If I go back and he is there I will walk out and get dinner from somewhere else

Place has really gone down hill the last few years. They close when they feel like and don’t honor their posted times or offer an explanation when closing early. Good food, but service has suffered big time.

Prices are honestly pretty decent compared to many other bagel places / delis. Staff was super nice and inviting to me and my 4 year old. Michelle is a sweetheart and Bob makes a good egg sandwich! Will deff be back. Coffee is decent too!! Soup made me feel better. I live up the road and never been here. Thank you guys!!!

Chicken parm hero is too saucy and could use a little more meat. Decent flavor. Mac and cheese just ok. Just salt and pepper flavoring.

Chicken club panini is just ok. Grilled chicken was bland. Good amount for $12. Would eat again though. Chocolate cake is good. More like a fudge cake. It's $4.

Captain hook hero is tasty. Chicken ceasar wrap is good. Overall a good lunch spot 👍.

I am not a new customer and have been coming to fireside for the last 20 years. Tonight I I called at 6:45 yes i know you close at 7:00 i in fact was across the street at TD Bank i wanted to order 1 Sandwich and was told that not recommended to order a sandwich as they were starting to close up.
I am sorry, I have worked in restaurant situations for over 20 years in the past, and yes, it sucks when a table for four comes in 10 minutes before closing time, but we would never turn that table away, and from the weight staff to the cooks to the bus boys, all are expected to give the same service to that cable as we would give to a table that walked in a half hour after opening.
The young lady who answered the phone wouldn’t even take my order, I do hope that a manager or owner see this and wonder why 15 minutes before closing they would turn a customer away.
If this is store policy, why have a closing time at all why not just close when you feel like it., Or just let people you want to come in enter.
I much rather get my hero as fireside, but looks like a subway night, very, very disappointed

Since 1996 I have been coming here to Fireside Caterers, and the food here is simply outstanding! Everything is fresh and wonderful, but their chicken cutlet Parmesan hero is probably the best I ever had, anywhere. Fresh cutlets and homemade sauce, on soft hero rolls, this really is the standard that your local deli or pizza joint should be holding itself up to. Counter service is ok 9/10, the tall woman doing checkout is very fast and keeps it moving, but not very friendly— don’t sweat it, it’s NY. Nearly 30 years now I’ve been coming here and I am telling you this is like a super-deli, calling themselves Caterers, don’t let that stop you- I’d eat here every day if I could. Phenomenal eatery. You will never see lunch the same again. I love it.

Parking: Parking spots are a little tight and disjointed, but always available

If you can avoid ordering from the lady at the deli counter. she is very nasty/rude and 7/10 times will get your order wrong. also watch the women at the registers who over charge. funny how they only notice that they do it when you say something to them. The hot food is not bad.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I had to let people know. This deli is not good. Dirty when you go inside, the lady that works there is absolutely miserable and should not be in customer service, and the food and actual ingredients taste old and skunky. When you go in ordering a simply BLT with roast beef and a side of potato salad thinking you can’t really mess that up… turns out you can and this deli did it. There are so many Delis on Long Island worthy of your money please go somewhere else.
