Would give 0 stars. Pad thai did not taste good at all and ended up getting food poisoning!

We visited Sawasdee Thai Elevated in Plainview, NY during the Christmas holiday while spending time with my kids, and it turned out to be a great lunch spot. We arrived around lunchtime and were welcomed by a couple of servers who were very attentive, friendly, and made us feel comfortable right away.

We started with several appetizers, including the Thai dumplings, golden bags, and curry puffs — all well prepared and full of flavor. For our main dishes, we ordered the Massaman curry with chicken, drunken noodles with beef, and spicy Thai basil with pork. Everything tasted excellent and was nicely presented.

For dessert, there was no debate — we went with our favorite, mango sticky rice, and ordered two because one is never enough. To drink, we tried their handcrafted Thai sodas: two lemongrass and one lychee, which were refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal.

The only small critique is that although we requested our dishes spicy, they leaned more toward the mild side. Not a deal breaker at all — everything was delicious — but we would have enjoyed a bit more heat.

Overall, a very enjoyable meal, great service, and a place we’d happily return to.

My teenage daughter, her boyfriend and another couple went here for a dinner date. The service they received and way they were treated was very poor. The waitress was rude to the them. They had hair in their food and weren’t willing to resolve it. The worst part was when the bill came. They included a generous tip for themselves and when the kids left another tip on top of the auto tip factored in, no one said anything. These are deceptive practices (jamming in auto tips and accepting custom tips on top). Anytime I’ve eaten here, never had an auto tip factored in. Smh….trying to take advantage of kids is no way to run a business!

Try a soup to start. And their Old fashioned is a fav on the cocktail menu. Skip the apps and focus on the extensive selection of main plates. Fun for a group to share different dinners with a side of fried rice. Add hot sauce to deliciously spice up any of the dishes. Do not forget to leave room for dessert- warm coconut pudding served in 4 Micro bowls. It is def Thai elevated!

I've been here before, and it wasn't crowded this time. I had the pad Thai and it really didn't have much taste. I did like the hot and sour soup with chicken. The people with me had other dishes that they rated mediocre. I probably will come back and give them another chance as the first time I came here the food was very good. And the people are nice.

Our first time at this restaurant, it is truly all the reviews raved about and more! The food, service and ambiance was all great! We were here on businees, however; if I lived here it could easily be a favorite spot. Everything about it was wonderful.

My wife and I got very sick from this place. We were hesitant to write a review because the owners are very defensive and take no ownership of the honest feedback. Instead of trying to make it better, they blame the customer (Look at all the negative reviews and their responses - it’s very strange how they handle negative feedback). I’m not sure where they learned “customer service”, but it doesn’t do them any favors. Take responsibility, connect with your customers, invite them back and make it right. I strongly suggest staying away until they can fix their attitude. You’ve been warned.

Ordered stir fried basil chicken - very disappointed with this dish. Chicken was chewy, overcooked and lacked flavor. When we called the restaurant - the manager was rude, unprofessional and not accommodating whatsoever. Food is also overpriced. Coming here for years and the food quality was declined considerably - will not be returning.

The Golden Bags and BBQ Pork appetizers were delicious, as was the Thai Iced Tea. The Rama Chicken and Slow Braised Short Rib Massaman Curry were also great. Service was nice and the atmosphere was modern and clean. Would go back!

Our party of 3 really liked this beautifully designed restaurant. Such a nice environment for dining and conversation. Drinks were good..sake and beer. Apps were large and so carefully prepared. Seared dumplings, soups, satay were excellent, enhanced with tasty sauces. Entrees of red curry and shrimp fried rice were nicely sized and carefully prepared Servers were attentive and skilled. We are from out of town and will definitively return someday.

I used to really like this place and ordered often, but my latest order was a huge letdown. The portions are way smaller than they used to be, even though the prices are higher. On top of that, the beef was overcooked and chewy. I called to ask about it and was told the portions haven’t changed, but that’s just not true—I’ve been ordering here long enough to know the difference. Very disappointing, and not worth the money anymore.
