Owner was super rude, pretentious, and cold. Very much Starbucks with a twist of trying to be local. I would not recommend to anyone who is looking for a cafe to spend time catching up with a friend or with children.After looking into the owner Chris , it seems he has a weird history of new jobs and many questionable reasons for leaving#plattsburghstatewomensteam

Chapter One feels more like your friends home than a coffee shop. While other shops specialize in getting drinks out and getting customers out of the door, Chapter One is an inviting space that welcomes everyone and you can't help but want to linger a while to slow down and enjoy your drinks/food.The baristas are top notch. They are always warm and inviting and its noticeable the effort they take to remember regulars preferences and taking their time with new customers.The space is ideal for deep work with tables to sit at, or comfortable couches and chairs to lounge in and visit with friends and family. The walls are adorned with local artwork in addition to hosting markets on occasion for local vendors to sell their wares. Management works with local businesses to provide customers with food options, ex: breakfast wraps. The Owner/Manager is always serving up new drink specials with the season. They create a sense of community with their different events from book club meetings, hosting workshops and seminars, raising money for charity and other special events. All this being said, Chapter One fosters a sense of community in this third space.

My partner loves coffee so we just had to stop in while we were on vacation. The barista was absolutely lovely, so personable and kind and great with kids! They even sell loose-leaf tea which I was very excited about. This place is a local must see if you are in the area!
