Perhaps the best Baker I've been to. Hands down the most amazing sourdough bread I can recall eating and at amazing prices. I got the seasonal loaf; a Maple and Potato bread and it is absolutely amazing. Stumbled on this place while eating lunch next door while in town for work. The vibe and atmosphere in this shop is nothing short of the best. We will absolutely be back and I only wish we were closer! Go! You will not be disappointed.

Plattsburgh lucky to have this world class bakery in Town.
My colleague’s kid loved the baguettes and tries to get one every day lol.
My brother loves the sourdough which is made the right way, has a great crust and is beautiful.
The Sweet Rolls or Cinnamon Buns are a revelation, great caramelized bottoms, nice swirls inside and a vanilla white frosting that is such a superior choice over other toppings bakeries normally put on.
I am only bummed that I can’t buy something that they make with my coffee at 7 am or 7:30 am, I don’t think any of the local cafes sell RED OAK stuff - I need to ask!
Twisted Carrot has a 3 bread starter that has 1 out of 3 breads coming from Red Oak, but literally the other 2 were mediocre compared to the Red Oak on the plate.

Because of you, I can eat bread again! Your sourdough bread does not irritate my gut whatsoever. I love your baguette and I just ordered 2 loaves of your 48hr. proofed sourdough bread. YUMMM!!! I appreciate your attention to detail, and the thoughtfulness, you put in to all of your baked goods. Your bakery is one of a kind! I hope you're around for the long haul. Thank you, so much. 🩷
Truly excellent sourdough. Sadly they're not making the whole wheat sourdough anymore, it was over the top good.

We have been getting the whole wheat sourdough! It is absolutely delicious! Bought pretzel rolls for brats too! WOW! Thanks Sarah, you are a sweetheart and I love your store. I treated myself to a Lemon Poppy Cookie, it melted in my tummy❤️😃

Excellent bread, cranberry/feta...OMG!!... great shop with a warm, friendly vibe and cute kiddos. Please support, its the kind of place we want to keep!!
Glad we stumbled upon this place while shopping in downtown Plattsburgh. The sourdough bread is so gorgeous you won't want to eat it, but please eat it because it's wonderful! We enjoyed the unique flavor combinations. The other bakery treats were amazing as well.
They also have a pin exchange board, and host work by local artists there. I had a great chat with one of the owners. We will definitely be back!

Don't be sour that I went and you did not. For starters, I met up with Sour Doug...check it out...This is such a cool bakery. Really good vibes here. There were kids playing over in the office area. The staff was really mellow and cheerful. But how could you not be when you supply this area with really good bread. My mom bought a sandwich sourdough. I kind of cheated, I had a sandwich on Red Oak sourdough the night before when I landed back in Plattsburgh. Also as I was home, mom stocked up by buying m a blueberry maple Maine sourdough. My parents love walking to the Red Oak. I get reports weekly of their ventures there. My mom was thankful I came in towards the end of the week as the bakery is only open Wednesday through Saturday. I was about to be the heel for ending the existence of those last two slices the night before!! I would've been toast. (Bread Humor on the rise? Well dough humor is). The bakery will slice your bread there for you. Read the witty sign above the slicing machine. Anyways, really great spot. Oh they have a neat take a pin, leave a pin. Anyways bring dough (money) to get dough (or limited rolls, cookies, treats)...
Ingredients on the bread are Flour, Water, Salt...I imagine love too...But really really good bread...Go Eat it!!!!

What a great place to have downtown. Don't really eat bread, but I am still here at least 2-3 times a month for bread, as well as the best cinnamon rolls I've had, and other items. Have yet to have anything that is not amongst the best that I have had. Owners are great and super friendly. Go Birds!
