great place to eat in Pleasantville before or after a movie at the Burns, or just to meet friends!

After being presented with a very promising menu, we had a very disappointing dinner last night.

Always consistently good food and service. And to top it off, prices are reasonable for the level of the total experience.

As always, Vela Kitchen met all our expectations. The food was scrumptious, the ambiance peaceful and romantic and the staff was friendly and professional. Thank you Michael, you've created a neighborhood gem.

One of our favorite places in pleasantville! Mike is always so warm and welcoming and the staff is so kind. We frequent so much they know our order (including all of our substitutions haha) before we sit down which is so nice. The staff really makes you feel at home here & the food is amazing every time!

We've dined at Vela Kitchen a few times and it's always a great all around experience. Love the atmosphere inside as it feels relaxing and like a treat to be there. Had dinner after a movie this past Friday night and our meal was so delicious! We started with cauliflower corn fritters which were super tasty. I had the Wasabi crusted tuna for my entrée, which I highly recommend, and my husband had the swordfish special prepared with mashed potatoes and mango salsa - both were beautifully done, not only in taste but visually too. They pair such great combinations in their entrees! We finished with a shared peach cobbler which was the perfect ending to the dinner. Leaves me looking forward to my next time there!

Two of us ordered salmon which was undercooked for one and overcooked for the other. Both tasted old and flavorless. This has always been an outstanding restaurant for us and we were shocked to get such a bad dinner. I don't see how we can go back.

We had an absolutely delicious meal at Vela Kitchen. So delicious that we asked for bread (to dip in our extra sauce). Except….they told us they don’t have bread in the restaurant. That was a first for me! And we brought along a vegetarian and there was not one vegetarian entree on the menu. (Vegetarian appetizers but no entrees). So if these things don’t matter to you I would definitely give this place a try because the food is really good.

I had the crab cake special which was delicious. This is a favorite spot to meet friends because everyone can find what they would enjoy for dinner.

Creative dishes, especially the starters. I asked for a limoncello spritzer, they made it. Attentive service

The food was great. We enjoyed every dish, from the items on the regular menu to the items we ordered off the specials. However, service was exceptionally slow, especially considering that the restaurant was rather empty.
