“Had the pleasure of choosing Tara Inn for lunch today, every establishment can learn a lesson from the customer service that my friend and I experienced. Upon walking in we were greeted by Peter, Tara’s husband and son-in-law of the founder who named the bar for his daughter 47 years ago. We told him it was our first visit and he offered us seats and welcomed us. The regulars at the bar guided us through the menu and we each had a burger with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles for $1 per burger expecting very small burgers we were surprised to find them standard sized and deliciously prepared to medium. My friend had the fried shrimp and I had a $13 steamed lobster! Excellent! They offer daily specials and one of the gentleman at the bar told me their steaks are very good. Every staff person went out of their way to make us feel at home. A charismatic women came out from the back and introduced herself as Tara she thanked us for choosing to lunch there. Why can’t other places realize the importance of making a first time patron feel welcome. I
Had a great afternoon enjoying the excellent variety of beers that they provide on tap. The charming decor has probably changed little since the ‘70s and that adds to the vibe. If you want to go to the friendliest bar on Long Island, head over to Tara Inn.“

“Patrons, bar tenders and owner very friendly and welcoming. I went in by myself, started hitting some pool balls, a patron came up to me and asked if I wanted to play a game. After we played a few games he introduced to some of other guys and gals there. Really nice time for me. When in the area I go back, very relaxing.

“While traveling for my son’s baseball tournament in Yaphank, NY my family and friends stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant!! Everything from the food to the staff is incredible!! I highly recommend this place and so did everyone else we went with (we brought 15 people with us). Everyone cleaned their plate and these are not small portions! The food is extremely fresh and there is a great sense of pride in their product. We loved our experience here and we will absolutely return when we come back in August!!“

“Came here on a whim the other night and had an amazing time. The people here were so friendly and kind. The bartender Sue (lol idk how to spell it) she was a gem helped me feel really comfortable. The drinks were reasonably priced. The people here take pool seriously though so bring your game face. Parking was easy & I suggest paying & tipping with cash. Oh and most importantly the bathroom was clean!!“

“As a musician who has played so many bars all over NY state I must say the environment at Tailgsters is so incredibly special. First, they treat the bands with love and respect. It should be the norm but sadly it’s not always the case. They go above and beyond. From the ownership to every single enologee that works there, it’s impossible not to absolutely love every person associated with this bar. The crowd is great and super friendly and safe and I genuinely look forward to playing there again. They treat their customers, staff; and performers like family. Really like family. I am so grateful that we’ve played there twice and I’m already looking to playing there again. Michelle behind the bar is a genuinely great person and makes awesome drinks, but every single person there is so approachable and engaging. I can recommend Tailgsters as a genuinely fun environment that treats everyone like family. I look forward to just visiting when I’m not playing. Impressed is a huge understatement. “I had the pleasure of experiencing SpyCoast food tent at my daughter's lacrosse tournament at Farmingdale State College this past weekend, and it exceeded all my expectations. Despite being a pop-up food tent, the service was incredibly friendly and welcoming.

Meghan was especially helpful and kind, making the ordering process a breeze. Jaden, the cook, was the happiest chef I've ever met, even on such a hot and humid day. His positive attitude was infectious and added to the overall great experience!

I had the bacon cheeseburger and my daughter had a grilled cheese, both of which were cooked to perfection by Jaden himself. The bacon cheeseburger was delicious and flavorful, while the grilled cheese was perfectly crispy and cheesy.

I went in with low expectations, given it is a food tent and it was over 90 degrees that day, but SpyCoast truly impressed me. I highly recommend stopping by their tent if you get the chance!“

“My husband and I went to D&B this past Sat night for dinner. My husband loves their chicken fingers and was in the mood for them, i, on the other hand, have a more finicky palate. It was very busy, as suspected, and they were short staffed (who isn't these days). Had a few issues with the service and the wait for the food was a little long but when the manager came over to see how things were, we had explained to him the few issues we had and he rectified it within seconds. Regardless of the service and wait, THE FOOD WAS OUTSTANDING. Yes, OUTSTANDING. I had the Mushroom Stout Burger and it was DELICIOUS! literally, one of the best burgers I ever had and totally worth the wait. You may think this is just a place to take your kids, but their menu is very good. And with a manager who is professional to address issues and provide outstanding customer service, Its totally worth it. We'll be back again, no doubt. And we definitely recommend it. I think they will surprise you!“

“Happened upon this restaurant while visiting Port Jefferson. And glad we did. Got here early enough that we could get a table right away. Steve took great care of us without being overbearing. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms, which were so freaking good. For main course my husband got the Chicken & Sausage Scarpiello, and I had the Veal Scallopini - both were delicious. We finished off sharing the Rainbow Cookie Cheesecake. This exceeded my expectations. Everything was so good that my husband wants to go back tomorrow!“

“Recently celebrated our daughter’s 1st Birthday here. After researching many venues in the area we landed with the Grille. Jenn (the event coordinator) was extremely friendly, professional and informative from the moment I called her to inquire about the space. The venue is a dual space. You have the catering room as well as the bar area where there are pool tables and a dart board. Perfect for our guests in their 20s. The food and staff were amazing. I cannot rave enough about Amy, Jenn, Steve, Ernesto and Sabrina. They were all so helpful and accommodating during our event. Jenn was extremely attentive and made sure we had all our desires fulfilled, up until the morning of the party. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this establishment. Book them! You won’t regret it!“

“TAINO is a small spot on Middle Country Rd in Coram... don't drive past! I visited in the mid afternoon on a Saturday. It wasn't busy but they were starting to gear up for a busy night - our waitress was also the bar tender and hostess... she was hustling all over, yet was courteous and friendly.
The food was very good. Beef empanadas were excellent. I had the Mangu Tres Golpes (pictured) which was awesome. It went well with my mango mojito that was also made very well. I'll definitely be returning!“

“Stopped in to kill time while my phone was being repaired. I had the steak sandwich that was unbelievably delicious, couple bloody Mary’s which were incredible.
The staff greeted you with smiles and were very friendly.
And from 10am-5pm is happy hour so certain drinks are two for one which you cannot beat.
