The food was delicious and fresh. We sat outside on a beautiful day. Calamari tasted like it had just been fresh delivered that day. The burger they had was top 5 I've ever had and they had no problems making substitutions on it. Service was a little on the slower side even though inside was mostly empty.

Edit after owner reply: Sure, I am happy to elaborate on my review. When we went to the restaurant (lunch, the day of the review) the service took an incredibly long time. So far as I could see, there were only 1 or 2 other tables in the restaurant at the time.I ordered the burger and fries. The fries were very salty, and the burger was visibly extremely burned (I had ordered it medium-rare). Another person at the table also ordered a burger, and we asked if ours had been swapped. After a long delay and visible annoyance from the waitress, the answer was "yes, they were swapped." It turns out, both were just very burned.I would've normally sent the food back given how unpalatable it was, but everyone else was eating (except the person who was also looking to get his burger), and the amount of time we waited was simply too long to tolerate further delays.

Great spot in the heart of Port Jeff, right on the harbor and next to the Bridgeport ferry. The dinner menu has a variety of good choices. The upscale indoor dining room is beautifully decorated and the outdoor area is perfect for a drink at sundown and into the evening. Excellent service.

Lovely location, with great service. Food was entirely mediocre. We visited for brunch, and some of the dishes were obviously prepared the day before and reheated resulting in the sauce breaking. We cant recommend this place, unfortunately.

Not children friendly (10 & under), dingy rooms—they “renovated”, absolutely garbage. They slapped on some wallpaper and added tacky decor. Small rooms, elevator not in good shape, not accommodating in any way shape or form. SKIP && run the other way.

Went here for my bday in December, with a reservation for a large group, and service was horrible. Long wait, inaccurate with our order, food was served cold and flavorless. We requested to speak to a manager and no one came. Extremely disappointed for such a great location! Unless there have been changes since then, I would never recommend.

Worst service ever - we spent 2 hours waiting on food. Food finally arrived and half of the order was wrong, the other half was dirty, improperly cooked and the staff had no clue what they were doing. We waited 30 mins to speak with the manager who never showed up and we eventually walked out - we needed up at grumpy jacks which was awesome - they made up for the horrible service of this place. Ferryman's grill deserves 0 stars - for food, staff and basically everything

I have been here many times to eat over the last couple of years. The view is absolutely stunning and the atmosphere even better. I have recently come back and I have to say it has vastly improved. The service was nothing short of impeccable. My server Joanna was professional and friendly at all times and had great recommendations. I decided on the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were also delicious! My favorite part was the manager Maxwell came over to ask how everything was and fully engaged with me the entire visit. It's service like this that makes me want to come back.

One of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Luckily we had a $100 voucher for food and drinks included with our stay otherwise I would have refused to pay. Wine tasted like it had been sitting open for days, the salmon was incredibly dry, and the calamari was fried so much that it masked any taste of the actual fish. This is marketed as a high end restaurant that we paid $40+ per person and I would never step foot in their again. Don't waste your time or money.

I traveled to Danfords, and eat at Ferryman’s Grille in February 2024. The menu was light with 15 light bar type menu items after 8:00 pm . If you didn’t sit at the bar, you weren’t served. Once I brought up the quantity, no one came back to my table. Very Disappointed!

Friendly, hard working staff. (Trying their best) Definitely understaffed and under prepared to handle the off-season load. Purely Fault MANAGEMENT for that. One of the first to be seated for dinner and the last to be served. They did apologize and comped our App and drinks though. We would find it difficult to give them another try. Food was good.

My fiance and I had reservations on Valentine's Day and was given a special menu for dinner, not an impressive selection, however my soup and food as well as my fiance's was cold! We had waited for so long and the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Truly disappointing and what's worse, we wanted our wedding to take place there in the fall. We hope to give them one more chance on a regular menu to decide whether we have our wedding there.

The brunch was exceptional; even better than our first experience. The personnel cannot do enough. They seated us at a lovely table. We really had a wonderful time. Can't wait to go back. Thank you!

After considering the patio chairs and tables being disgusting white with grey dirt it turned me offThen at bar watching employees walking eating with plate in hand I guess during employee meal was a turn offAlso at at bar and bartender said no Happy Hour, I asked the manager and he said of course we have a happy hour ?‍♂️ confused ?

Had dinner with friends at Danfords last night. The place was practically empty. We soon realized why. No real menus to speak of. While eating an appetizer, a small worm crawled out of my food. The mussels were bad and had to be taken away. The butternut squash ravioli were actually cheese ravioli. The only thing good about the place was the kind and very helpful wait staff. Worse, golf club members have to pay an exhorbitant fee to subsidize this atrocious restaurant. It’s scandalous. The village administration must rectify this.
