Locals Coffee Cafe - A True Gem!

Locals Coffee Cafe is hands down one of the best spots in town! I stopped by recently and was blown away by their amazing pastry selection—everything looked so fresh and delicious that it was hard to choose. I ended up trying a couple, and they were absolutely divine!

On top of that, the staff was incredibly patient and kind. I wanted to try something new with my coffee order, but wasn’t sure what to get. They took the time to walk me through different options and helped me pick something that I absolutely loved. It made the experience so much more personal and enjoyable!

Whether you’re stopping by for coffee or a sweet treat, Locals Coffee Cafe is the perfect place to relax and enjoy high-quality service. Can’t wait to go back!
Ps. THEY HAVE WIFI

This is my go to spot to get work done and enjoy a great coffee and meal. The owner makes everything fresh, and creates and curates the cafe's recipes for a really delicious fresh take on a lot of regular favorites.
The vibe is legit, and music always chill, never too loud.
Lots of folks whip out their computers and folk meet for business.
They do pick up orders and eat in/ dine in with a great outdoor patio for warmer weather.
It's a small town gem that you never realized you needed!

Went with my family and really like the food and menu. The drinks were really good and the fried chicken sandwich was great. Samara at the front did an excellent job of making drinks and waiting on customers by herself. She was very friendly and helpful.

Got a burger and fries for $15. Burger was well done, and 2/3 the size of the roll. Hint: If u gonna use a small burger patty, then use a smaller roll. Fries were soggy and undercooked. Sent them back. Next time in the area I will go elsewhere.

Great location, across the street from the Bridgeport Ferry. They have added quite a few vegan options . For breakfast they have vegan pancakes with whip and berries and a tofu wrap with veggies and a dipping sauce. Side choices are home fries , coleslaw and a side salad. The coconut lavender latte is delicious and their hibiscus decaf iced tea was quite refreshing. They stay busy and it’s a small location to there’s is a bit of a wait but it was worth it.

Four stars for the vibe the people and and the menu but my small cappuccino weighed like 3 pounds. Definitely off target. Significant room for improvement there!

Quiet little place near the port of Port Jefferson on Long Island. Coffee break with delicious sandwiches in a welcoming and relaxed location, populated by families and students, far from the commercial chaos. Free Wi-Fi connection, recommended French toast and eggs toast. Don't forget to take a walk on the pier opposite before setting off again!

I ordered the French Toast meal, which came out to $13 after tax.
I had gotten two mere pieces of French toast that were medium sized and a few blueberries. I ate the meal in about 2 minutes and was left very hungry.

I will give this a 2 out of 5 only because the French Toast did not taste bad. But to pay 13 dollars, receive piss poor portions (I am sorry) and be left hungry is not good for business.

Edit: I appreciate you doing that. I will be giving a second opportunity down the road.

After about 40 years of taking the ferry, finally decided to stay in Port Jefferson for a weekend.
My apologies to PJ for not doing it sooner.
And I wish I had because Local's Cafe made for a great part of that weekend.
The food and even the people are fresh and natural. A truly welcoming place.
Watching the world go by while making my taste buds happy was a wonderful combination.
If you are unfortunately like I was and usually passing through for the ferry, work it into your schedule to arrive early, park in lane 1 through 5, and walk over to Local's Cafe!

Entire staff super slacking. 0 sense of urgency. No type of organization with the lines or orders being placed. Sat inside on a Tuesday afternoon not Busy and my food took over 35 minutes. We're talking about lunch eats; A burger, grilled cheese. My burger was a slider size... Dirt place is dirt

I love this place. Wish they would stay open later.
Also wish they would turn the Air Conditioning on. sometimes too hot to sit in there in the summer

Vegetarian options: yes. They have veg options

Food: I got food poisoning from my avocado egg toast. Tummy started gurgling about an hour after the meal. It's now been more than 48 hours, sigh, and I'm still plagued.

Service: Employees do the bare minimum. Adequate but nothing to be positively impressed by.

Atmosphere: Noisy. When I was there, on Monday around 11am, there was a guy w/ his laptop, openly yakking on his phone at great length. The staff dragged the screechingly noisy metal chairs across the floor rather than lift them up.

Also, the cutlery is all plastic, and it was quite difficult to cut my poisoned toast. (Plus, not environmentally friendly!)

Curried tofu scramble wrap is filling and good. Plenty of seating even though it’s a busy cafe. The cold brew coffee was nice as well. Updated from previous review on 2024-07-04

I think that this place is a very aesthetic place. The food was a little over priced and you could tell you’re paying for the vibe and not quality food. The lady at the front was very nice It just seems very gentrified. I would recommend going here to study and grab a drink but food is over priced.

My husband and I were in Port Jeff for a day trip. Before arriving, I did searches for where we could have breakfast so we were looking for the cafe based on the positive reviews I had seen online. We were not disappointed. The egg avocado toast I had and my husband’s egg sandwich were both amazing. Sorry, no egg sandwich photo; it had been devoured very quickly.
Not only was the food fresh, flavorful and very delicious, it sustained us both for the entire afternoon.
The day was brutally hot, and we ended up taking the train back to NYC earlier than planned but we’ll definitely return to Port Jeff when it’s cooler, and we already know where we’ll eat.
This cafe offers a variety of options for both breakfast and lunch as well as great coffee and chilled beverages, and great looking deserts. Based on how empty the display was at 11am, those deserts are as tasty as they look.
It’s a clean and cozy spot with a laid back atmosphere.
A 5 star ⭐️ review from us!
