One of our favorite breweries, and we go to enough of them. No indoor seating, small bar area, in the shape of a boat, with their own taps. You can actually see the barrels they brew in while inside ordering drinks. Plentiful outdoor seating on benches, Adirondack chairs, wooden barrels, etc, however on busy weekend days or during the summer, seating may be hard to find.
Dog friendly as well, and sometimes they have live music playing outside.
Right near Slurp Ramen, a burger joint, ice cream, and Port Jeff Lobster soup. We frequently order take out nearby and eat it while enjoying a brew here.
Good vibes and great beer are the perfect mix at this gem. Always a good time
Plastic cups, no indoor seating, filthy porta potties, and sub-par beer…
Recent social media advertisement of this brewery insinuated teachers should get drunk or have a brew on their meal period, "Cheers to the start of another school year. The tasting room is open at noon." Would you want teachers go at noon as illustrated in the ad and later return to the class room? I wouldn't. This establishment cares more about profits serving beer than being a responsible member of the community. Make matters worse, the wait staff continuously over serve patrons including but not limited to mentally retarded people who do not know their own limits. Merchant will also include credt card surcharges on the bill without disclosing or any actual return policy for general merchandise as reuqired by NYS or Suffolk County. This establishment will also advertise they are a member of the Brewers Association without paying the necessary membership dues. Mike, the owner, will boast about how much money he makes from concert nights while smoking weed or the number of wait staff he slept with. The womanizing behavior and over-serving turned me off this place.
It's okay-ish. There's literally ZERO inside seating capacity...yes, you read that right. There's no inside to speak of. There's a room with a counter, that's it. You're supposed to buy your drink and sit under the porch or out in the elements. If it's too hot or cold, raining? Windy? You're screwed. Don't wander too far or you'll be silently threatened by a ton of signage outside about leaving the tiny area. Then there's the cheap plastic cups. Why? It's good for a drink or two if it's slow but don't bother during season (summer).
I love it here! I love everyone that works here! So friendly and kind. If someone dislikes it here it probably because they were rude. I have never had a bad experience and I have gone weekly for a year.
Beer was great. Staff wonderful as always. DJ, not so good. Billed as 90’s hip hop - did not play a single song in the genre.
Stopped in with a group of 10 just hanging outside, listening to the band and having a few beers before heading to an event.
Beer: If you check out a lot of breweries, this is just meh. Had Apricot Amber (middling flavor up front to a rough aftertaste), Banana Brown Ale Nitro (void of banana, tasted like a creamier Brooklyn Brown). Others in the group I was with felt the same.
Service: Disappointing at best. I knew what I wanted when I approached, but there was a group with a few older people that didn't and needed some guidance. One of the women working behind the counter couldn't have been more annoyed with this. The person taking my order was okay - transactional and quick. While she was running my card one of the other workers started making fun of a customer that just paid. I get that happens - but it should be in earshot of the other customers.
Atmosphere: GREAT location, near the port, outdoor seating. Had a band playing. Nothing inside for seating, so if it's really hot or poor weather, good to keep in mind. Just beer and some snacks. The merch in the area you order had some cool looking logos and shirts. Dogs were allowed in the seating area, in case that isn't your thing.
All in all, cool place to hang for a few if your aren't picky about beer and want to be outside.
Port Jeff Brewing in Port Jeff, NY is the ultimate spot to unwind and enjoy a cold one. Whether you're looking to chill with friends, people-watch, or even unintentionally miss your ferry (guilty!), this brewery has got you covered. I love that it's nestled in the heart of Port Jeff, adding to its charm and character. With a diverse selection of brews and a laid-back atmosphere, it's the perfect place to kick back and savor the moment.Cheers to good times,Marisa Balletti-Lavoie
Extremely tiny place on the inside. Pictures made it seem bigger. Very few selection of drinks and my seltzer was flat. The bartender was unfriendly
Restaurantji Recommends
Port Jeff Brewing has a nice selection. The inside area has a boat shaped bar and barrels as tables. Nothing fancy yet cozy. Large area outside to hang out. Near the water to enjoy the sights. ~Cheers
Krista!! The best got damn bartender on existence!!
This place is the worst. The Beers are lousy and the servers are nasty. avoid this place. Go to GBB across the square and get a great selection of craft beers and great burgers.
My wife and I love Mike and his staff. Always a smile and very hospitable with live music all the time during the warm months. I highly recommend you check it out and their great craft beer selection.
small little brewery in the heart of Port Jeff. across the street from the marina. nice spot for a cold one on the outside patio .
