I grew up on LI, went to Our Last of Wisdom (Catholic School just up the street), and went down port every couple of weeks.I've since moved to Arizona, where we aren't exactly known for our pizza. Every year, my husband (also from LI) & I go visit family back home in Lindenhurst and Merrick.I brought him to Port Jeff Pizza on a rare putting to show him down port, and now... EVERY YEAR we go home, we will drive all the way out to Port Jefferson for the best pizza...

We arrived to the ferry with just a small window of time and empty stomachs. I was thinking of just getting a few of the ready-made slices, but then my partner asked about getting a fresh pie and how long that would take. We got an estimate of 15 minutes, but as soon as he read our hesitant looks, he vowed, "10 minutes."
