The place had 4 tables sat when we walked in. The table we were sat at was dirty. They clearly don't have enough staff. The food was below par for the price they charge. The drinks were good but let's be honest it's tough to screw up beer and vodka soda. I don't know what happened to this place. The food was once great.
Our waitress was over taxed, she was alone with many tables both outside on the deck and inside the restaurant. She worked as hard as anyone could have but never had a chance, amazing how she never let up. They need more staff!
If I could give zero stars I would. The service was absolutely terrible. Many tables around us were also complaining. Wait staff would disappear for 20-30 minutes at a time. I went to the bar myself to get our drinks. People who were seated 15-30 minutes after us, received their food before us. After a long wait, we were at least hoping that the food would be delicious. Sadly, it was not. I over heard one customer complaining to management that they were waiting 20 minutes for their bill. It's a beautiful location and this used to be a good restaurant. Not anymore. I will never return. I suggest you do not waste your time or money.
I thought the atmosphere was nice. It's on the water. The location was out of the way from the port Jefferson main port area. I think you can find a better restaurant right at the main port. Food was just ok. I had the shrimp scampi and the shrimp were minuscule.
My family and I were so disappointed Thursday. How can a beautiful location like this not have any seafood on the menu and what ever is listed on the menu they are out of? The food took 45 minutes to serve us and was not worth the price they changed. We should have noticed there were no vehicles in the parking lot but we haven’t been there in 2 years ago and we enjoyed it then. What a shame this place has gone down the drain.

Horrible no goo
This location has SOOOOO much potential. One of the best views the Northshore has to offer. The place should be packed on a Friday night. The menu is small the food is ok we have had better before. We sat outside on such a beautiful afternoon there was NO music playing all you heard was the base thumping from the party inside ... which was better than hearing nothing. So we actually were playing music on our phone and put it in the middle of the table .. Service was slow but expected as they are all young kids. One of my biggest pet peeves is every time she would come to the table she would apologize " im sorry it took so long" im sorry I forgot this" etc. etc. It brings such negativity to the entire experience. Not the waitress fault at all it all goes back to leadership and the people above. Hoping this review is more of a to do list for the new owners will try and convince my husband to give this place another shot since we are locals.
The only good thing about this place is the view of the water. Below it even looks run down with poorly maintained landscaping and the total eye sore of what used to be a tennis court. We had 7p reservations and did not get our dinner until 8:50pm and this was after multiple requests AND with two young children. The restaurant had THREE total tables being occupied including ours so they were not busy. The food, for the price was not good. Mashed potatoes tasted of just that, no flavoring at all, literally just tasted like potatoes. The ribeye tasted like it came from Walmart. Dylan was our server and she did not do well. We had to remind her of requests multiple times and never even got things at all. When we did finally get or food, it was cold and Dylan argued with me about the pasta sauce served on my 2yo’s bowl of pasta that was spicy saying it was not. My daughter literally coughed with every bite until she refused to eat it anymore which was after about 3 bites because she was starving. I tried it and it absolutely had a spice to it. The only reason we even mentioned it was to make her aware and suggest that maybe she forewarn parents of young kids that the sauce has spice to it before ordering. When we were leaving I actually heard her tell the other table who was getting dessert who also asked for coffee that “sorry, I already dumped it”. I’m sorry but IMO if you are a paying guest ordering dessert and want coffee, the nice thing to do would be to make another pot. It’s an actual shame bc the view is so well but the food and service were not good at all. Will never return unless Lombardi’s takes the spot over again.

Beautiful views, with a horribly disinterested and inattentive staff who seem to be more concerned with posting their next TikTok video than checking on the tables they're paid to cover. Abysmal and tragic considering the location.

The new staff at The Grille are trying very hard to turn around this beautiful restaurant that has outstanding views of the Long Island Sound. Sunday night outside on the deck and only 3 or 4 tables occupied? Our service staff was young and inexperienced but eager to please and so very pleasant. With the backdrop of the Sound on a beautiful afternoon, its hard say that much is bad here. Our steaks were good but overpriced and needed some more time under the heat for medium rare. Calamari with banana peppers were outstanding and a must for the appetizer. Included sides were a nice change from charging extra for each add on. Truffle fries were delicious. Glasses of Wine and bottled beer was the way to go here. Hope this management can enhance and expand the menu, also with pricing that is in tune with the customer base.
Unbelievable view of the LI sound. I feel like this place is a bit of a hidden gem! We really enjoyed the peaceful uncrowded dinner. Food was good (not great). But the ambiance more than made up did that. We'll be back soon.
Went for a date night. Ordered raw bar and was told they ran out. They should have told us that when we sat down before ordering. Salmon was over cooked. Server was just ok. Wasn't worth the $200 meal.
We had a 1 hour wait time even with a reservation. Had to remind the host we were even there. No apology for the long wait. Only 6 or 7 tables filled in the entire restaurant. The waitress was wonderful but overworked so we were left unattended for a very long time and had to ask for a refill on our drinks. Very understaffed which damaged the entire experience. Asked for steak medium rare, and after a hour waiting for dinner with empty drinks, the steak came out well done. Manager did nothing to fix the situation. They knew it was our anniversary and did nothing to make the experience memorable. Terrible experience especially for the price. Definitely would not recommend.
