The café itself is really cute! They sadly only had one vegan cake when I was there, namely the raspberry crumb cake. I'm pretty sure it was made the day before yesterday because it was pretty solid and dry. The taste was okay. I can't say if that is the norm, though. Updated from previous review on 2024-10-06

Everything is so good !! I’ve been ordering their surprise bags , and I’ve gotten so many lovely things. The strawberry cake with icing was amazing and I just tried this corn muffin stuff with blueberry filing. Eveything seems to be made from scratch , it’s the best blueberry muffin I’ve ever had !!

I stopped here on my visit of Port Jefferson on May 24. I was picking up a custom 4 inch buttercream cake I had ordered. When I got there, I saw so many gorgeous looking pastries I just had to get more. I ended up getting a linzer tart, rainbow cookie, and crookie. Not pictured because they were so good I ate them immediately.
I also got a Blueberry Pie, Chocolate Creme Pie, and Apple Galette. The Blueberry Pie and Apple Galette were filled with real fresh fruit, and massive. Her fruit pies are truly the best on the island. The chocolate creme pie I put back in my freezer and it was like 100 times better than those Burger King Hershey Pie’s.
As for the custom 4 inch cake, the owner truly went above and beyond. My only directions were “4 inch chocolate buttercream”, but she decorated it gorgeously. It was also a lot larger than I expected. I was very pleasantly surprised. I was gonna eat the whole cake, but ended up sharing that one with my family as well. They usually don’t eat the chocolate cakes I bring, but they loved this one. I have to say, it was the most rich and fluffy chocolate cake I’ve ever had. The combination of different types of chocolate blended together very well. I will be coming here for all my future occasions. Everything they make is delicious.

Took a tour of Port Jefferson yesterday, May 2. My first stop was this quaint little bakery. The cases were lined with a selection of colorful and enticing pastries of all kinds. I had my heart set on an apple pie since before I came in though. I was astonished to be given the most beautiful, massive fresh apple pie I had ever seen. This 9 inch pie had real weight to it; my arm was getting tired carrying it back to my car. When I got home and cut into it, I could see all the individual slices of apples, very large ones at that. It was the best apple pie I’ve ever had. I had stopped by Port Jeff last week as well and the owner had a collection of cute soaps in her shop as well as many other interesting gifts. That time I got a small chocolate cake type pastry. It was also truly delicious. Will be back for sure.

I love this Bakery! Not only are the staff and owner great people but the food is delicious! I called one day to ask if they had something in stock, they didn’t have it. The next day I got a phone call from them saying that the owner had personally made that item and put it aside for me. This made my day! I cannot express how much that meant to me. I will definitely be using them if I need any baked goods. All the food is amazing.

Don't bother to call this place. You'll get a voicemail box specifically stating that they will not listen to their messages. If and when they call you back their lack of professionalism is astounding. That's all it takes to keep me from going there!

Lisa, the owner of Torte Jeff has created one of my favorite bakeries. Any dessert I get is always fresh, creative, and delicious. I got European hot chocolate with my boyfriend during the ice festival, and I swear that it was the best hot chocolate I ever had. I also love her Morning Sunshine protein cookies after I workout.

Stopped in here on a whim last week and was surprised by how cute it was inside. It was my moms birthday, so I thought I’d bring her some extra sweets since everything looked good. I got 2 cupcakes, which were huge, and 2 slices of strawberry shortcake. Both of which looked lovely. I was blown away by the affordability, it was only $18 for all my items, bakeries near me would charge $30 at least. The quality for the price is amazing! Everything was really good and I will definitely come back in the future! Highly recommend!

Pre-packaged rice krispy treats were compressed, gummy and stale - ugh! The rustic apple and pear tart was under-baked - the pale crust (no egg wash or sanding sugar!) should have been the tip-off: the crust had zero crispness or flakiness and the bottom was mushy and damp, and the apples were still a bit raw. The final customer experience turn off was that the tart was put in a box that was taped shut with a heavy duty sealing label that could not be simply torn off or undone with your fingers, it required a blade to cut it; I've never seen anything like that on a bakery product.The Moroccan lentil dry soup mix was the best thing we bought at Torte Jeff.

It was a little pricey for a pie, but I was willing to pay the price, I honestly only rated it 2 stars. My opinion is that when you bite into apple pie, the apples should not be hard I definitely have made some pies in my day. I just didn't have the time but the next time I will find the time to make one

This place is fantastic. Pretty much everything they make ranges from very good to sublime. A great variety from week to week, always seems to be some kind of new creation. Friendly and knowledgeable staff too.

It's such a charming little spot that steals your attention with its bright floral decorations. Inside are lots of really yummy looking baked goods from cookies and brownies to slices of cake and miniature pies. The staff I interacted with today was also super lovely ❤️
