An absolute gem in Potsdam! The Lobster Roll, Apple & Gouda Adirondack, and White Mushroom Pizza were each outstanding, prepared with care and flavor that exceeded expectations. The waterfront setting offers a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, making it the perfect dining destination. We even purchased merchandise to bring a piece of this small-town treasure back to Florida. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

I wish we lived closer! The food was delicious! We had soup of the day(broccoli cheddar), chicken risotto (ohhhh soooo good!!) and Jake’s burger cooked perfectly medium rare! Highly recommend this restaurant. Make reservations!!

One meal was inedible, one was great. So 50/50 on food. Seating placement for small tables is ineffective, forcing people to sit adjacent instead of across. Waitress stared over shoulder while paying at table, totally rude.

I live in Las Vegas and am used to dining out frequently. While spending time in Upstate NY, I listened to local recommendations of best restaurants around. I went to Hannawa Falls to eat at Jake's on the Water. Meal was great. All things had great flavor without sacrificing portions. As I have to use the restroom to relieve myself from the 16 oz steak I just ingested, I get caught off guard as I think someone walked in and was looking at me through a window. As I turn to investigate I notice it's myself in the mirror. Who the hell puts the toilet directly across from the mirror?!?!? I've never stared myself down while I conduct the filthy business of defecation. Almost like a western stand-off. Deep eye staring, twitching of the fingers, and a bead of sweat rolling down my forehead. I want to thank Jake's on the Water for giving me that experience, and the push to get to know myself better. Literally.

Outstanding find overlooking the Raquette River.
We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and unfortunately only the brunch menu was available with usual suspects. We did appreciate the brand on top of the burger bun! Hope we’ll have a chance to come for lunch or dinner and try those items.
View of the water was quite nice, as were the flowers on the deck. Server was excellent - please tip generously.
I have to say Jake’s saved my perception of this area! We were in this area dropping our son to a local university where the first couple of nights food options were so limited we had considered heading to Ottawa, CA for our last dinner before heading back to NYC. We made a late reservation on a Monday night. I was surprised that the only reservations left were after 7 p.m. but we preferred to eat a little later. I will be honest, I didn’t feel too comfortable in the St. Lawrence County, area as I didn’t know the area and our family was often stared at. I chalked it to us being a very tall family or because this area is not very diverse. ANYWAY! We arrived at Jake’s at our reservation time and this place was PACKED! Oh it was so nice to see everyone enjoying the space. The atmosphere was great! I instantly smiled. We were seated at the loft because it was a little chilly for us to sit outside and expected to receive slow service and wait a while for the food but that wasn’t the case. We were so impressed by Morgan, she has great intuition, exceeded our expectations and was super friendly but not in a fake way you often get when service is just focused on their tip. The food, as the other reviews stated was great. We devoured the mussels and even consumed that Thai-inspired broth. My daughter had a burger, my son and husband the salmon, and I had the fish fry. When I tell you — I haven’t had this good of a fish fry since Curaçao — I’m not exaggerating! OMG it was good. Thank you for existing. I don’t have any photos but that’s how you can tell we enjoyed ourselves!
