If you are a hungry college student or just passing through Potsdam, NY, check out Royal India Grill. The restaurant is between Clarkson University and SUNY Potsdam, and offers customers a variety of different dishes during lunch. Having read the reviews on Google, I decided to drive out there myself. The restaurant is very nice and clean, and there's always an attentive waiter refilling waters and seeing if you need anything. Now, I can't say how things are during dinner time or if you are ordering takeout. But if you are stopping by for the lunch buffet, it's worth the money. During my time here, I had the Chicken Marsala, Chili Paneer, Goat Saag, Plain Biryani, Onion Chutney, and Regular Naan. I also ordered Garlic Naan, Chicken Naan and Mango Lassi. The food was wonderful and you could taste all the seasoning and spices that went into each dish. The only thing that I will mention to new customers is to bring a few coins for the parking meters. Also, if you like the Naan bread like myself, you'll have to order a few extra servings.

I still cannot believe We went so far to Potsdam and found this place. This is one of the best Indian restaurants in the country. And affordable compared to the NYC area.

We stopped in for a late lunch and were completely satisfied. The buffet was full of delicious and ample choices. The service was outstanding. A bathroom is available to the public as well as a full bar area. The only distraction was a large screen television. This is a top-quality restaurant where many local folks are regular customers. What more could you ask for?

I love Indian food and the Royal Indian delivered perfectly. Delicious food. Super attentive staff! After our dinner they treated us to a small dessert and when finding out it was my birthday, they played happy birthday and gave me a dessert. I love coming up to Potsdam and trying this place. So so good. Yum!

Another wonderful meal! We love the food here. We usually try the lunch buffet because we have a hard time choosing off the menu. Everything is delicious!
The ambiance was warm and inviting, while everyone was helpful and attentive. The lamb vindaloo was fantastic and reminded me of the first time I ever tasted it many years ago. I will definitely return and try more dishes here!
