Tell me how i get there at around 830pm for dinner. They don’t even greet us. First thing they said was, “we’re closing at 930 so please order fast.” I’m like, okay?? So we order food at around 840 and get it by 850. Then at around 9 they tell us they’re closing earlier so we had to hurry up. By 910 they were legit kicking us out of the restaurant. I have no idea who that server with the glasses is, but she’s lucky she even got any tip at all from us. I didn’t want to leave anything but i wanted to be at least decent about it. I’ve been going there for about 10 years now, never going back tho.

Everything is so flavorful and fresh, packed with love . Spicy California Roll and Amazing Roll are so good. I never liked sushi until i tried this place- now i’m obsessed! the spicy mayo is so tasty. only issue was they only gave me 1 out of 2 of the orders of california rolls but i got refunded through doordash.

I lived in the Poughkeepsie area for over 6 years and ate here probably over 100 times. You will not find better sushi at this price within 100 miles. If you’re looking for sushi, this is the place to go.

Food was fresh and delicious, and they were great with my young kids! Great option after the kids museum!

Fantastic service! I was stuck on the Amtrak platform for four hours. I called the pub next door and they wouldn’t walk me over food. But Akari played ball and was so gracious to meet me at the platform (I couldn’t leave as our train was going to leave any minute, allegedly.)
Thank you so much to the Akari team! The sushi and the fried shrimp appetizer were solid!

Me and my girlfriend went here after a long trip back on the train. The prices were great, the food was delicious, and I got enough in my lunch combo to have leftovers! Wonderful place with quick service :)

Its a small place, but the special rolls were very creative AND tasty. Ill be back for more. Pricing is well under what most places charge for a meal.

Place smelled. Food didn't last the ride home before it had an off taste.

The sushi is fresh=fantastic! I wish the pieces were bigger but there is a perfect balance between rice and sushi. My wife goes to Albany at times so I pick her up in Poughkepsie and we ALWAYS go here for take out. It's not fancy but it's clean and the food is A PLUS

Missed our train and used the time to get a lunch bento box at Akari. Wonderful fresh, shining flavours and kind service. The food was far better than some of the fancy restaurants we got to in the city near our office. Looking for an opportunity to come back. If I lived in Poughkeepsie, I’d be there a lot.

The best sushi in the Hudson valley by far. The service is spectacular as the servers go out of their way to accommodate you.
Food was immaculate and servers were very kind. Despite it being 730 pm and what I would imagine to be a very busy time, we were able to get our food promptly. That all said, the main thing prompting me in posting this review is having seen a full grown man snap at a waitress over a bowl of soup, (an issue which she quickly offered to resolve) followed by about 15 minutes of complaining.
My guy, if you decided to post a bad review over a bowl of soup at rush hour at a restaurant, shame on you. This place is great.
Sushi is good, Kani salad is OK. Too much crunch, not enough spicy mayo or crab and cucumber. Good food tho.
One of my favorite places to eat the two waitresses are very sweet. I always look forward to going there.
No salt requests has been honored each time.
