The owner NAILED IT! The atmosphere is amazing, with outdoor seating on the beautiful Hudson River. The food is awesome too. I try something new each visit and am pleased every time. My guests are equally impressed. Our new favorite spot in the beautiful Hudson Valley. You will LOVE it!
I have visited the Governess several times while bicycling on the rail trail just up the street . The Governess has a nice relaxing atmosphere right on the waterfront, good food & drink , the wait staff are friendly & accommodating as well as the manager Melanie. Good vibe here folks give it a try !!
It was my first time there and I had a really great time the bartender is wonderful.

The Governess bar & restaurant offers a pleasant and laid-back atmosphere, with a beautiful riverfront patio providing a beautiful waterfront view. The owner NAILED IT! The food is consistently delicious and awesome, with oversized portions that meat eaters thoroughly enjoyed. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating, and the service is a highlight. The cocktails are well-presented and arrive quickly, and the beers in tap are delicious. The holiday decorations are supreme, and the Frozen themed bathrooms are destination and instagram worthy. The Governess is a welcoming spot with a good vibe, well worth a repeat visit.
