This is one of my favorite restaurants! The menu includes many traditional French dishes in addition to daily special appetizers, salads and entrees. This is the place I go to on special occasions, the ambience is very elegant, but great for any time you want great food and a beautiful dining experience!

We have been to Brasserie several times since it opened. Last night's food did not disappoint! Everything was cooked and presented with such care that caused my guests to comment on it. Kudos especially to Hannah, our server! She managed to take care of our large table with such ease. Everything was perfect!

Food very good Lobster bisque - not as creamy as I'm accustomed to but decent flavor Duck confit - very good and delicious lentils as an accompaniment Crème brûlée - should have been warm on top Giving an unimpressive rating on service. While waiter was polite and attentive, the food just too long to come out of the kitchen. It was Thursday at 8 pm with only three tables occupied. Entrees took at least 35 minutes to prepare.

Our server messed up our order and was unapologetic and very inattentive. Food was okay but lacked salt in several dishes. Baguettes were a sad grocery store ready to bake variety. Decor in the side room tacky.

Service was great. Drinks were great. Vibe was great! A gem in the heart of Poughkeepsie. The problem? BOTH meals, the steak and the short rib arrived at the table room temperature... NOT great. Don't get me wrong, they tasted good but it would've been nice to taste them warm at the very least. And no, we weren't sending the plates back for them to nuke it hot. Not at a fine dining establishment.

We were here to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. Our server Kevin was outstanding. He was very attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu choices. He made excellent suggestions. The food was top notch. Taste and presentation were great. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion. The decor of the restaurant is a throwback to the past. We had a great dining experience and will look to return.

Brasserie 292 is a superb restaurant and one of the best in Poughkeepsie. A beautifully rendered space with excellent service and food that is a cut above and reasonably priced.
