Ice House presents Flores Taquería

I made a lunch reservation a few days prior to going because the last time I went here they were so booked. When I got to the restaurant, it was closed and suddenly I couldn't find the website. The sign said they were on vacation, which is fine but I'm surprised they didn't cancel my reservation or even allowed me to make one in the first place.

Default low rating. I will have to actually experience the restaurant another time. We had confirmed reservations and arrived to find the restaurant closed for vacation. There were several other groups with reservations who arrived when we did.

Tacos & Maduros- delicious! Empanadas- The flavor of the filling was lost, just tasted overly fried. Cocktails were watered down. And not much shade on a sunny day- the umbrellas don't tilt so the sun is directly in your face if you sit facing the water at certain times of the day. Staff was friendly.

Intriguing taco concepts and some items were very good. However some things were a complete miss. Guacamole was not blended well and there was one big chunk that was about 3 inches around. Made it hard to share. Sangria tasted like cough syrup. I am a big sangria fan and have been to Spain several times. That was not Sangria. Really syrupy. Uch. I was excited for Ceviche, that was not ceviche. shrimp with no flavor other than lime. Don't recommend the ceviche, Churros had too much sugar on them and the chocolate was basically Hershey milk chocolate pudding, Not all all the dark rich chocolate drink that is served with Churros. I would tell people to take advantage of the unusual tacos and the riverside atmosphere. Beware of the sickly sweet drinks and the guacamole is not blended. One big chunk.

The atmosphere was very nice. Server was helpful, courteous, and professional. The menu could have gluten free selection. We were told when making the reservation that it did. When we arrived we had to compromise. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Thanks to our server. She made the difference!

Our server was great! She was attentive yet, gave us our space to socialize and dine. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. We enjoyed the sunset and views from where we were sitting.

Not typical authentic Mexican. Guac didn't taste freshly made. Food in general was on the bland side and when we requested if they had any kind red/green chili sauce, we were told it would cost extra. Worth it to give the meal the "kick" it needed.

Service was awful: we actually made a booking but no table was set aside for us, hostess forgot to come back seat us and provide us with menus, side plates or cutlery, we had 2 wait staff come past and say they would be back and they didn't so we called over a 3rd (whose table it actually was) to place our order. It took me complaining to the hostess to get crockery and cutlery and our drinks. Food was awful: we ordered chips and salsa to start but the salsa that arrived was more tomato and water - we asked for hot sauce to give it some taste which took so long to arrive, we hardly had any as we were almost finished. We each ordered 2 tacos. They arrived on a huge aluminum platter, just lined up. 4 tiny tacos in this huge platter without any explanation from the individual who delivered them to the table. By the time we got our cutlery and crockery, they were cold and congealed. Even the addition of some hot sauce couldn't save them. The red sangria was good but arrived late and was not on the house as promised. We didn't bother trying to order dessert. We were not the only table having issues. An all-round failure from the service to the food. If the food was good, we would have been a lot more accommodating as we know good help is hard to find right now. Absolutely not worth the money!

Great waitress who made sure we saw the happy hour menu, food great and plentiful. Only issue ( not their fault) were local kids running around screaming from adjacent park. They then proceeded closer and was down by water yelling. After 15 minutes of this we said something to the kids and we were amazed they immediately stopped yelling and quietly walked away. But must say A great night overall ! Will be back!

We want to like this place, given their location, and have now tried twice and walked out disappointed each time. The tacos are great but the service continues to be inconsistent. We ordered drinks, appetizers and for our main meal- tacos for the adults and burgers for the kids. We received our apps first, followed by tacos, then drinks and after about 15 minutes from finishing our tacos - the kids got their burgers. When asking about the burgers we were told that they take longer than tacos. Not sure why the main meals couldn't be timed to come together. The kids burger was beyond well done and not edible. This experience was very similar to the first time we went. There is so much potential here but they need to do a better job at overall service.

Super accommodating wait staff, we planned to eat outside but it was too windy and we were able to move inside rather quickly even though they were busy. It was Father's Day. The food was amazing, my kids loved the Amazing Fries. Husband and I ordered the crawfish cheese dip and wow! Just wow! The Lobster roll was surprisingly better than what we've had at seafood spots! Loved hearing the band play too!

Adam our server was gracious & enthusiastic. The staff & the views were all outstanding. The food, not so much. Disappointing. Seemed like most of our food was heated up in the microwave or had been frozen. Except the guacamole & chips and My cocktail.

To clarify, the service by the wait staff was very good, but it took an inexplicably long time for the kitchen to prepare and serve the tacos, which were ordered by 3 of the 7 diners; they were “out” of guacamole (in a Mexican restaurant?); and we had difficulty finding seating outside, although it was reserved, because there was a large party using much of the room on the patio. 5 of the 7 thought their food was very good, but the factors mentioned above spoiled and otherwise good restaurant experience. I would recommend the restaurant to others only with a qualification based on our experience.

The ambiance is wonderful - we had an outside table under a huge shade tree on a perfect sunny and warm day on the river. Service was good but not outstanding - had to ask multiple times for our 4th set of silverware (table had only 3 and there were 4 of us), and our friend ended up getting more napkins for us. Food was OK but not great. We were very disappointed in the ceviche. Tacos were OK but nothing to write home about. It's a shame because the venue is great. We wouldn't go out of our way to dine here again.

The food was fresh and abundant and the prices were great! The staff from the servers to the bus people were all super friendly and helpful. Best was being on the River on a pleasant patio with free parking nearby! I highly recommend it!
