Best pub in Dutchess county. Many beer choices. Wine. Specials. Food is a 'A' in quality and quantity. Service is cheerful and fast. Splitting the bills up is no problem.

The place itself is very nice, but the bar manager bullies the staff. Earlier this week he fired a bartender and reduced her to tears in front of everyone in the entire place. Even if the firing was earned (which I don’t believe that it was), the matter should have been dealt with in a private setting in a professional manner, not by bullying a young girl in public. Not only was it blatantly inappropriate, it was also abusive as well. Several of the regular customers (including myself) are boycotting what was our favorite local bar because of this incident. Nobody wants to go relax and have a drink in a place with such a negative atmosphere.

What a great place. I wasn't expecting to be there that night but was invited by some coworkers. I was at the bar for a bit and brought some takeout home for the family (munchie platter) which was yummy. The staff was very friendly with just the right amount of comfortable fun banter to make it feel like I had been coming there for a long time.Keep it up!

I need to revise a previous review of the bone in chicken wings. I recently visited JD's to try the wings again and I have to say that they are by far the best winds I have had in Poughkeepsie. They big and meaty with a flavorful buffalo sauce. I had them with a Caesar salad. I'm a pretty big eater but I could only finish half an order ! ( 5 out of 10 wings ). Highly recommend. I will be definitely going back real soon.

My two friends and I were just refused service for having out of state IDs. We are all in our thirties. Waiter claimed it was the owner’s policy to keep out underaged people from the nearby college. Is that even legal? The place was half empty, why would you refuse service to people who are clearly adults? We pushed back, and the waiter went back to check with someone and came back and restated their policy. We asked if they would refuse us service if we brought in our passports. She seemed unsure (probably because this policy makes no sense)… Part of me wants to try, and part of me has no interest in returning…

Have frequented many times. This visit was for a buddy's birthday for just a couple hours after work. Great food and the bartenders/staff are always fantastic. I love that they have Angry Orchard on tap and the food is always hot & fresh out of the kitchen.
