The best deli in Poughkeepsie! Great sandwiches, great people. I've tried half the menu and every sandwich has been incredible. The Vodka Parm hero, Italian-American (with balsamic vinegar!), Milano, and Hooker Avenue Special are all favorites
I went here for the first time. The meatball parm on ciabatta bread was outstanding. The meatballs were so juicy and tender. It was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had.

If you’re in the area and want a classic New York deli experience, Delforno’s is a local, family-owned place that’s got that timeless feel. The food is incredible, every sandwich, every side, it’s all so good. The shelves have some Large canned peppers and tomato products from Italy, fresh Italian bread, and a well stocked freezer. The fried scrod sandwich was about $11 and well worth it. The fish fillet was generously portioned, dusted with Italian breadcrumbs and deep fried - not greasy at all. It was very light and flavorful, the round roll was fresh and the perfect vessel for this sandwich.
