Husband and I dined here about 2 weeks ago for the first time, and overall, had a very nice experience and enjoyed our food and drinks. We were seated by the windows, so we had a nice view of the tree-lined grounds. The menu has a good assortment of seasonal vegetable items, but since I’ve been eating a lot of salad lately, I wanted carbs, so we decided on the table bread appetizer. Wonderful Opening! Looking forward to bringing our Vassar student next week. He works on campus and we are going to stay at the Heartwood Inn to experience it for the first time.

The Salt Line offers a sophisticated yet unstuffy atmosphere, with locally sourced ingredients shining in every dish. Guests praise the complex, creative, and delicious food, highlighting standouts like the Green Goddess salad with Gorgonzola dressing and the perfectly cooked House Made Rigatoni with truffle sauce. Salmon, described with a bold, peppery crust and tender interior, was also a hit, as was the garlic hummus. While service is generally gracious and attentive, minor fumbles have been noted. Some areas for ambiance improvement include chairs and the outdoor space. Overall, The Salt Line is considered a fantastic restaurant with incredible potential, and many look forward to returning.
