I decided to give The Ugly Mug a try because I noted how the owner responded personally to every review that was written. I liked that a lot. It told me he takes each customer seriously and is into personal service. It is a simple establishment. The tables are all at bar height; the seating is all raised, and it is also limited: Three round tables plus seating for four at a window bar overlooking the street. The coffee was great, the server congenial. I was looking for a place to write. The Ugly Mug was perfect.

10/10 experience! I got the "hot shot" and it is the best beverage I think I've ever had. It is two shots of espresso with cayenne pepper milk, but I never expected it to taste so amazing. The spice leaves a very nice tingle in the back of your throat.

Asked a Poughkeepsie cop where we could buy a good cup of coffee and he suggested the Ugly Mug. It was the best coffee we have tasted from the west coast to the east coast of the USA. The tea was also excellent. Both were hot and refreshing. The barista was very welcoming and kind. Thank you Ugly Mug at least someone can make a good cup of coffee in the home of coffee lovers. 5 plus 5 stars.
