We stopped by BreadsNBakes in Pound Ridge for some pastries and a simple question — did they sell King Arthur or another high-quality flour for a sourdough starter? Kate not only took the time to chat with us, but actually disappeared into the back for several minutes and returned with a container of starter for us to take home. She treated it like no big deal, but to us it was such a kind and thoughtful gesture — the sort of small-town generosity you don’t often find in larger cities. Kate went above and beyond, and we left not only with a starter, but with a big smile and a genuine appreciation for her warmth.

I expected the young women working here to be friendly or to at least smile and say hello but they were just unfriendly, not rude exactly but grumpy really. Do they hate working there? I automatically pushed the 20% tip button when I paid but now I wish I hadn’t. Maybe it’s me… but I just felt so uncomfortable… won’t go back there soon.

Tart bitter iron and citrus tasting espresso. Ugh. Why? Just do an Italian roast on it and bring out the chocolate notes. It’s what everyone wants. So tired of hipster espresso.

Not a fan. Desserts and pastries are okay. I’ve had tastier. Too many people (all very nice) working behind the counter and yet service is still slow. They need a more streamlined system for making purchases. Takes a long time to get a coffee. Paid $8.94‼️for a miniature cup of tomato/red pepper soup. Not worth it.

Great to have this place in Pound Ridge! It reminds me of a bakery I used to frequent in Paris.
Excellent pastries!

No greeting upon entering, in fact even walking up to see the items behind the glass near the register there was no acknowledgment of mine or my families presence (there was only one customer in the shop & the woman behind the counter, not only saw us entering, but made us feel like a nuisance for walking in). When I finally asked what was being displayed (nothing was labeled) she gave a meteoric description with an unpleasant sense of annoyance. We still -regretfully so- purchased two pastries.. coconut cookie & a quiche about 5$ each.. it was nothing worth back for. When my family and I were walking out another customer was walking in & they were kindly greeted…

We only just moved to the area and this has already become a go-to weekend stop. Everything we’ve tried has been amazing. Fresh baked breads, cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, pastries, quiche and more. All delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. 5 stars all around!

Quite possibly the best baked goods I have ever had anywhere. Sampled: ham and cheese croissant, choc croissant, brownie, quiche, banana bread and tomato mozzarella ciabatta. Even the vanilla latte was fantastic.

My friend recommended this spot to me so I hightailed it with my parents to try. My gosh, everything is delicious. Classic, fluffy, fresh, homemade, still-warm cinnamon rolls, oatmeal cookies, baguettes, ciabattas, brownies and more. Great mozzarella sandwich, brie and fig sandwich, sweet potato-carrot soup. Already can’t wait to come back.
5 stars!!!!

First off, pastries are 5 stars BUT their espresso drinks are hit and miss.
The only barista that can make a proper cortado is the man that can barely fit through a doorway.
Someone give that man a raise and then have him teach everyone else.

The danish is delicious. It doesn’t over use butter but is so crispy and flavorful. The store super clean and you can see the kitchen from glass windows
